Holiday Poem

Post by theirishsea » December 27th, 2011, 11:42 am

maybe not a poem
maybe just a message from my heart
that has supped on joy
and is filled now to sadness
for time
like the earth
keeps moving on
and the wine and our days age

I want to drift
into my imagination
keep snug in it
while exploring the lonely alleys
the gift-wrapping, the untied ribbons
the emptiness

it is stupid
to dwell on the sorrow
most of it imagined
as I am mostly happy
the children's eyes, voices
the whir of battery operated gadgets
the pings and bongs of computer games
the superhroes in their disguises
the baby dolls with their wide eyes

is it happiness is it sorrow
that streams out of my eyes
like some uncontrollable tidal force?

the questioning
is too intellectual
and my heart is not
intellectual

thanx danno, what could be better than a colleague saying you inspired them ....

this poem choked me up, I was pulled into the emotion like a magnet fulfilling its destiny....I too have been consumed with pouring over my record so to speak, thinking hard about the future as well......maybe over analyzing, but perhaps this is exactly what needs to happen....

your poem suggests perhaps that at some point we need to pause and reevaluate

enjoyed it
