cynical consumerism poem

Post by mnaz » January 3rd, 2012, 10:17 pm

too many of us
too many of them
too many of us or them
too many boarded dreams
barren fields, burning wells
pious plunder pundits
pushing product
shiny things
and saviors
a hundred
payments

selling trinkets to us so we can feel rich
enslaved in debt
and wishing for more
my car cost as much as i make in a year
but yes, do you have something else for me to buy?
(hands placed together as in prayer with a little kid smile)
its another christmas of self enslavement.
Happy New Year
There is no empty space

I dropped out of that game a few years back.

As Terry said: Spot on and should be a mantra for our chronic consumerism illness. A miniscule (comparatively) population using much more of our fair share of the world's resources.

Thank you.
