Post American New Years Blues

Post by saw » January 1st, 2012, 11:55 am

another christmas gone
washed away like the scripted sand
that ebbs from the oily beach
and santa fucked you again
'cause he knows you're still
a believer in the dream

some traditions like bending over
the table of contents, that preamble
to forced entry cannot be broken
by your mere disappointment, no
some fantasy is as unflappable
as the word of god

some unfulfilled prayers mean
you just haven't prayed hard enough
or long enough or you haven't been
a good enough boy last year, c'mon
mister face your opponent and prepare
to draw down, don't you dare blame santa

you ingrate
feel the warm trickle
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

i laughed 'til i cried. Not at the poem - but the comments that followed. i was gonna have some toast but got ambushed on the upper Nile by Santa Claus
and a sleigh full of hot Egyptian babes. It was better than O Brother, Where art Thou!
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
