Bodies from the Civil War

Post by the mingo » January 6th, 2012, 2:34 am

- it's news now how they found the photographs
from the civil war
the old light captured in shadow
but the dead still look dead there

the poetry of the thing.

my lungs breathing on snow

it's useless this weaving of love
for a blanket, useless...
for every smile there is
a dead body somewhere

layed out, lined up
waiting for burial
being so low tonight
I'll wallow in the pity of it
you being asleep so far away
there's nothing else for me to do
nothing
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

tender homage to that lingering pain.....fine work
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
