invade! . . . liberate! (another tiresome protest)

Post by mnaz » February 6th, 2012, 2:25 am

five-star preacher on tv
always some barking head
hopped up about god and war
the next evil crude-filthy desert
rent-a-tyrant turned evil presidente
his dire arsenal, his nuke in a briefcase

invade! do it for the women!
says joe bob in his wife-beater tee
say the clinic bombers, doctor killers
say the fundies with their chastity belts
say the pope and his forced procreation
say the sanctimonious moral mafia

liberate! do it for the oppressed!
says billy and his confederate flag
say racist thugs in pointed white robes
say cowboys who tied a gay man to a post
say riot goons who bust heads for placards
say the muslims hounded by the bureau

invade! do it for freedom!
say the secret torture farms
say the disappeared enemy fighters
say the corrupt petro-puppet states
say the appointed sharia warlords
say the haggard war refugees

liberate! do it to defeat terrorism!
say the crusaders who foment terrorism
say women and children shot in their homes
say the gunship raiders who killed journalists
say troops guarding oil wells as the city burns
say the no-bid cronies who get rich off war
say the forty-billion quarterly oil profits
and may god bless the troops

thanks, dadio, k . . . we should perhaps liberate ourselves a little more before presuming to liberate others by military invasion?
just a thought . . .
