Are you watching the superbowl?

No. Got my running around done for the day and been beading ever since. The beads have been talking crazy to me & the prayer bowl has gone in unforseen directions. The ancestors whispering in my ears. Lord, it's nuts.
I love nuts!

Re: Bandit Notions
I dreamt about hunting and gathering, can barely remember it, but I know it had to do with the book I just finished reading. My fingers are sore from biting them badly. That was an intense night.
Do you think it's time for preparation for the end days, mingo?
I get so worried about not being ready for it, survival wise, I mean.

Trying to figure this out real quick,
k, you want that kayak because it's portable and you'd be able to toss it on your back. Basically, it'd be the logical choice in case the 'hunger games' began, right?
As in, what if a vehicle was no longer logical, therefore it couldn't transport ...say the boats I was looking at. Maybe I should be looking at inflatable rafts.
Gonna do so research on the items catfish has in his shopping cart for survival.
I need to get my mind to think logically, it's not an easy gesture.
Thank you, mingo.

Re: Bandit Notions
End days? What the hell are u reading? Anyways, when it comes to eschatology I take the New Testament as final word and in that word there is not a single shred of "survivalist" thinking. So that's how I roll on that. What are you reading that's got you biting your nails and dreaming of hunting-gathering?

Ask the DustMy plight drove me to the typewriter. I sat before it, overwhelmed with grief for Arturo Bandini.
John Fante
The old railroad tracks that passed just to the southwest of the house I grew up in still pass through my mind, ya know. Yesterday is yesterday, today is today, and tomorrow is a carrot on a stick.
It's damn chilly in here. Got me looking for a long-sleeved shirt. Whatever is to come I just hope it's warm. It's romantic to think of the ice ages but I've had enough winter. I could crawl into a wooly mammoth's belly right now because I bet it's warm in there. It might smell funny or even stink but it would at least be warm. It's enough to drive a man to Texas. Or even Tennessee.
I'm gonna go listen to some Inuit throat-singers. Then maybe some Mongolian throat-singers. Hell I might even end up listening to Tibetan monks rocking a chant. Followed by Jerry Lee Lewis.
"You shake my nerves
and you rattle my brain..."
Go ahead, spin my prayer wheel, I just double-dare ya.

I'm gonna learn to shoot a bow and arrow.
I found this for you, but don't kill it, I bet it'll just hug on you and keep us warm.

Re: Bandit Notions
That's a big moo-boo. I just noticed I have hats hanging all over the place. I used to not wear hats at all but now they come to me. Hats have complicated my days.
I don't buy them. I'm like a gypsy hat herder. Like someone waved a wand and now hats gather to me like llamas. Ate a virginia ham & swiss cheese sandwich in my janitor's closet at work tonight and thought about the night before last as I hauled trash out to the dumpster and looked up at the sky in time to see a river of clouds crossing the moon.
time for ginger snaps and milk. I dreamed last night of Mongolians ice fishing in Siberia. There was throat singing going on in the background. And powerlines in the distance. The powerlines faded into a haze. I kept returning to the powerlines. I mean I would watch the fishermen out on the ice then i would look at the powerlines, again & again. Somebody was talking of a young woman that was not going to help her father with his animals any more but wanted to go away to become a doctor.
Maybe things would have been different if I had been raised on mare's milk. But then again, maybe things are different enough as it is. It is a mixture of fear & wonder for me to understand that it is entirely possible to cross over into that place where everything is a dream.
The years don't seem to last very long any more.
I'm not worried about food in the future. I only think about the food I might want to eat today and tomorrow.
'Nite, Doll.

Re: Bandit Notions
Good morning, mingo.
Oh! a dreamer last night. A fisherman out on the ice, bringing in such beauties, but then with the interfering world close at hand and causing the muck, the disturbing lines out there obstructing the natural scenery.
You want just the present time with a fish in your pan, a full belly and to be warm.
I know what you mean. I do too.
It's what's nice to wake on.
Good things.

Re: Bandit Notions
Sorry, Doll, I got up late and have been working on the prayer bowl - she has been relentless & demanding since we can see the finish line now. We are in the stretch and pouring it on...got about five square inches left to cover but with delica size 11/0 beads that's still like plowing the "back forty" with a hand trowel but we are in site of where we began! I think I had a dream of the Arctic early this morning - there were people around, women, children, dogs, drying racks for skins and - a lawnmower I think, an old one, you could tell it didn't work anymore or hadn't worked in a long time. No grass though, everything was white. I realized I was at an Arctic campsite and I began to look for the kayaks but just then this dog came up to me getting my attention and when he had it he began to go off from me. I followed him with my eyes then saw where he was going - towards a small rise that was topped by an inuksuit (google that, Doll, ain't got time right now) - I was so surprised I woke up.
Time for work - catch ya later, Doll

Perhaps it was my dog and I put to good use finally building something and then you saw it...

Can I see a picture of the bowl when you finish it?

You can. I'll take some pics of it when done. That was a good pic you posted, I enjoyed it.
Moon out tonight in clear skies, just past full. Quiet too, almost noiseless. Think I'm gonna hit bed - 'Nite Doll, & thx your remarks on the poem.

That full moon had made the last two or three days a crazy train.
I kinda want to find a place quiet and just escape them, the responsibilities and noise. Wanna climb a tree with me?

Snagged from pinterest.com of course.
