agitated wind ....and mind

Post by saw » February 15th, 2012, 7:43 am

the wind snapped
like a turkish towel
cracked on a bare ass,
turbulent day....plastic lids
oversized clumsy frisbees
tormented cans writhing
to and fro after trash pick-up,
mobile roadblocks
to vehicular nirvana

my mind snapped
a veteran of all the wars
an oft innocent bystander
whose random journey
brought him to this fight
put this hefty scarlet X
on his back

the wind howled
like a time bandit galloping
into town on paul revere's
dead horse, sweeping the light
sensitive into a pile, vacuuming
them all into a vortex
of answerable puzzles

my mind howled
my tee shirt hopelessly ironic
my thoughts accelerated particles
my atoms smashed, my molecules
as uneasy as that moment
when a beautiful strange woman
offers to tie your lace-less shoes
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

For some reason, the scene when Cher slaps Nick Cage's face,
"Snap outta it", comes to mind.

Reminds me of a day in College Park Maryland, fifty years ago this April. She was not beautiful, but her smile was so kind. She did me more good than all the shrinks in the world ever could.

Thanks for the poem,
my mind is severely snapped, abstractions so concrete
and the concrete abstract
I been faking sanity for so long I forgot who I was.

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
