the hat screamed

Post by Kailashana » February 21st, 2012, 8:22 am

before the fire dies,
the scarab rolls its mighty dung
across the sun

a flame
from the solar plexus
soars
to the loins
and breaks the shield
inside the skull,
the floating mind
banished
to a hell patrolled
by bear claws and
missing teeth that
left ten thousand marks
and one hundred thousand holes
across the earth

a cock crowed thrice
the dissonance
that day the music died
or became absurd in untenable grasp,
shivering
across the moccasin miles we have yet to go,
and you watch the world go up in flames
little by little,
this land is burning with progress.

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

there is a lamp that looks like that poem in this house....
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
