there is the shine

Post by the mingo » March 2nd, 2012, 12:37 pm

there is the shine
of fire under the hemlocks
not only from long ago
but right now
right here
in my head
just off the unpaved road
the young wanting to
extend the wildness of it
for as long as they can
knowing what waits for them
has none of this moment
in it
for too soon the memories
of wanting to touch again
what couldn't be touched even then
only beheld
as it passed by ...

and this was
handed down to us
by our father's & mother's
the same way it was
handed to them
they could not improve
upon the situation
and neither can we
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
