the list of so-called experts is a tiny one, but the public seems to feel more comfortable when they parade the same cadre of fools out each night to alleviate our fears, or as is more accurately the case, stir them up.....TV sells fear.....as they sell consumer goods....which of course, is the bottom line.....how can we get the watcher to be glued to our broadcast.....well, we'll have to sensationalize all of our stories.....even the weather sound bites are exciting.....the sports....we need our fix of spectacular news.....I don't believe anything any more....I see it as entertainment at best, manipulation at its worst.......the days of Edward R. Murrow are gone.....but fortunately there is some good independent commercial free news sources .....Democracy Now and Link TV are my favorites, but there are more if you search.....but even with those option, sometimes I just want to bury my head ......I dig where you are coming from

Speaking of Edward R.

Just read an article that blames Walter Cronkite for losing the Vietnam War. I've read some stupid shit but that has to be near the top. Something about proving "liberal media bias" ... does not speak well of our educational structures to have folks going to school just to end up thinking like this. The person what wrote the article was "serious"... I love serious people, they always are out there for protecting my peace and freedom and they always make the very best fascists..

perhaps it stops right now- all the idiots with power are never going to stop that- greedy machine-my very first husband was in nam and he hated the 4th of july- later in the yrs it would come to me how freaked out he got on the 4th of july- i think that we should all be as afraid as he was-
the buffalo and i spent the 4th of july together for six years while all the cowboys made whoopee in town- i guess that times are changed- and that there are some people that still believe what this goverment sez and the other ones-as well- i think that the whole game is up-
unless we change -and not everyone understands how- there will always be people frying up bacon and sucking up nitates in front of a bad television series-

I am afraid too creative soul and I am just a four f hippy conscientious objector. I was batshit crazy during the sixties, even worse than now. I could not fall asleep at night without imagining a rifle barrel tucked up under my chin and my finger on the trigger. I got called up in 1963 but I was declared mentally unfit for military service. For a long time I felt guilty as hell about my 4F, till a combat veteran said "don't feel guilty, feel fortunate."


Sorry I don't know what a drowning pool is. I tried to Google it and all I got was the name of a band from Dallas.

you tried- seriously and the whole deal for me is about spirituality - i mean something is fucking our shit up big time- and i would like to be able to point out even one person that was responsabile to BLAME... but then those three fingers come right back in my face--- like this-- well if i cannot change you and not the world- then let me commit to one piece of ground, and not fly- dont drive too much and learn to ride a bike 6 miles into town-that means i am not a 'mass consumer' any more which i think is a commitment to politics as they are now-
