Yes it is a posed drawing. I say drawing, because the pigments are pre-mixed and a natural brilliance comes thru with pastels, added to by the 'puter pixies enhancement, I generally increase contrast and decrease brightness. This helps to bring out the colors more completely and affords a semi-gloss finish. I cropped the photograph, the picture enlarged, I edited the brightness and contrast in increments untill I had the optimal effect with hues and values.
Energy, vitality, spirit were present in the "Shakti" poseur.
Plus, if you look closely, you can see all sorts of small distortions in the figure. But I got the pose and the hands, the details, were all emanating as it formed....emanating, I would see the small forms, the lines, the composition appears before me.
