I bought a Sunday paper today, the first one in months. I am

looking for a job I needed the classifieds, and it would be

nice to catch up on what is going on with Prince Valiant too.

But it was kind of a bummer to read the letters to the editors

this one was a a real puker.

cut and paste
Perry true believer

Why is it so hard to believe God called him to run our

country? We need a true christian in office.
I wish God did not give a shit who we elected.
I wish God would stay the hell out of politics.

Hillary was right there is a vast right wing conspiracy and

they want us to be afraid, very afraid.

President Perry
Oh boy[/size]

I was talking to Aristotle the other day, he said I

should consider the possibility that God is calling Rick Perry

to be president. In the meantime I tell myself that if Obama

could win a second term he would be free of the money machine

and not have to pander to the money interests and actually do

some real good. I still believe him to be a good man, if an

ineffectual politician.
If I don't vote it would not be because I don't give a shit,

but because I don't want to be part of the system anymore.

"In debt we trust" Yeah I like that. I had a political

science class at the University of Maryland in 1960. The

instructor was ranting and raving about our debt. We were

going broke he said.

In the meantime:
Every passing hour brings the Solar System forty-three

thousand miles closer to Globular Cluster M13 in Hercules—and

still there are some misfits who insist that there is no such

thing as progress.
Kurt Vonnegut, The Sirens of Titan

I still believe in progress, somehow some way life will go on,

and everything is on time on schedule, but what do I do till

the iceman cometh? That is what I think about mostly
I also think about Libya from time to time. That is the one

thing that Obama has done that makes me not want to vote

again.
Let see how much have we blown on Libya so far or is that war

over? I think Obama said we were going to pull out in April?

Maybe if he gets a second term he will bring the troops home.

A billion dollars so far and counting, a mere

pittance...

And we should be thinking about how good we got it

here, we should not think about how good the Germans got it,

or the Canadians or the Norwegians, we don't want to think

about that it is depressing. We should think about Iran,

Syria, North Korea, Zimbabwe. Thinking about those countries

always cheers me up :? there but for the grace of G_d...

what to do, how to put my shoulder to the wheel
besides rant and rave on studio eight
I know what to do
I will live the good life.
And not be scared all the time
that's all folks
one more thing
e_dog I would rather look at Obama on TV than I would George

W. Bush. For what it is worth Obama does not fill me with

loathing the way Bush does.

Sometimes I wish I had a little button in my forehead that I could push and play back a pre-recorded opinion on any subject being discused.

It Beats me Cecil, I am trying to think what the good old days were like, before "Yellow Journalism" before corporations became people, before we killed God, when we still had the Consolation of Philosohy. Have you ever read A Confederacy of Dunces?
“With the breakdown of the Medieval system, the gods of Chaos, Lunacy, and Bad Taste gained ascendancy.” Ignatius was writing in one of his Big Chief tablets.

After a period in which the western world had enjoyed order, tranquility, unity, and oneness with its True God and Trinity, there appeared winds of change which spelled evil days ahead. An ill wind blows no one good. The luminous years of Abélard, Thomas à Becket, and Everyman dimmed into dross; Fortuna’s wheel had turned on humanity, crushing its collarbone, smashing its skull, twisting its torso, puncturing its pelvis, sorrowing its soul. Having once been so high, humanity fell so low. What had once been dedicated to the soul was now dedicated to the sale.

thanks for the stream and picture, happy to see you streaming again.

I posted the first attempt that I deleted to my artbog —not a typo—not so much a blog as a bog.

The first reply to your stream was a wish I had for a button embedded in my forehead that people could push to hear my pre-recoreded opinion to what ever pre-recorded tape of conversation they had just spoke to me which I did not listen to because I was too-2 busy listening to myown pre-recorded opions which I was going to play for them as soon as they shut their mouth for a second. That way we could sit around all day and push each other's button on facebook. So that is what Levi does with his time now that he does "less is more" at litkicks.

My first reply was inane. That is why I deleted it, but here I am posting it again. More or less :? :o

On a somewhat related personal note, maybe:
I read the thread on on litkicks that this refered to. I have always admired Levi, I wish I had been a better cyber friend to him. Sometimes I wonder what he said a long time ago about dues :?

something like
"dues fucking paid" 8) I thought he was so 8) But then I got to thinking, "Man here I am at the tender age of 71 and I am so far behind in my dues I will never catch up."but that's okay cause it's just my karma. For a while I felt sorry for him I guess. But he is so much younger than me. I caught up on a lot of my past due dues on Litkicks, I will always be gratefull for the time I spent there. Made some dear friends there, who have shinned some light on my own path because their paths were so shiny.
Most of all I felt sorry for myself, I will always think of Levi as a friend. I still have far to go, but I would not have missed the good times on litkicks and I don't even want to think about life after studio eight

I miss non sum, he was one of the great trollers of studio eight.

Is God just? I don't think justice is an attribute of the divinity. Not any justice that I can get my primate brain around.
Too much Freud, Nietzsche and LSD sorry

A great truth is a truth whose opposite is also a truth.
thomas mann essay on freud

You left out a few countries on your list of shame. What we did in Central America, the so called Banana Republics.

They say the truth will set me free, but it also makes me lonely because I was born to follow. I want to be in the middle of the herd chanting "USA,USA, Boo Rah!"

Nothing to do with your thread but I feel like I lost one the few things I was proud of about America.
See image below:

Well as long as I am wondering this far from the subject of your thread I was wondering if you remember who was president before Obama? I just can't remember his name, it has been so long since I heard any one mention him.
The space shuttle program another victim of a failed presidency.

Sorry mnaz
