the god particle (redux)

Post by mnaz » April 26th, 2012, 8:40 pm

(revised)

the white coats are bored
hunting for the god particle
for the indivisible grain, for essence
seek ye the most holy grain of cosmos
and sacred riddles will tumble like dominos

in miles of monster magnets under france
in ducted star trek steel octopus nightmares
we shall smash poor protons harder than ever
seek god in caves bored by giant metal worms

yea, we shall smash our way to glory
little black holes unleashed in the carnage
but fret not, they are weak but god is strong
fret not a chain reaction in french countryside
the alps suddenly swirled into a cosmic drain
judgment day
blip

sheep- that is what we became- sheep- instead of standing up to the bullies we became docile stupid sheep
niegh like a sheep god particles are everywhere- no one owns them, not the guys in z white coats- not the buildings that claim God is in there from 10 to 12 on sunday- nope quantum physics and all that- sorry- that /God particle is within your core now- and keeping the rest of you going-SOUL MAN----THAT IS WHERE WE ARE TODAY---ALOHA---
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

the god participle
The word comes from Latin participium,[2] a calque of Greek metochḗ "partaking" or "sharing",[3] because the Ancient Greek and Latin participles share in the properties of the adjective or noun (gender, number, and case) and of the verb (tense and voice).
wicki

we all share a common language, but some of us are word kooks

Oh yes I am a sheep
I was born to follow
the word god, God, G d,
whatever mnaz or you mean by that word
it means nothing to me but fear and love
and sometimes hate
a mystery I can't unravel
down on my knees
I heard a voice say
now get up and walk like a man
I sometimes thinks that my heavenly "father" is just as crazy as my old man here on planet earth
yeah wo can stand up to that bullie
only a righteous man or woman
no not me

still just goofin
I can dig it 8)

i dunno maybe it is better for me to call it'spirits' as i am preparing to go to a sweat lodge and get down and dirty with what i consider Creator- that things that makes me breathe= and heal- and stuff like that= i have a friend that sez' if God is a guy behind a desk- i just want one shot'
he is a rather angry man0- and i think if he found a creative way to be - he might let go of some of that baggage- i dunno- none of my bu  siness really- aloha

I read somewhere that the Hebrew children had no word for god, no word that could be spoken.
I am just a word freak, I don't know either
Whatever it is
particle physics or theology,
it makes me nervous.
the word hubris comes to mind.
aloha

Mnaz's poem reminds me of a short story I read about 50 years ago called The Nine Billion Names of God.
The Nine Billion Names of God.

This short story tells of a Tibetan lamasery whose monks seek to list all of the names of God, since they believe the Universe was created in order to note all the names of God and once this naming is completed, God will bring the Universe to an end. Three centuries ago, the monks created an alphabet in which they calculated they could encode all the possible names of God, numbering about 9,000,000,000 ("nine billion") and each having no more than nine characters. Writing the names out by hand, as they had been doing, even after eliminating various nonsense combinations, would take another 15,000 years; the monks wish to use modern technology in order to finish this task more quickly.

They rent a computer capable of printing all the possible permutations, and they hire two Westerners to install and program the machine. The computer operators are sceptical but play along. After three months, as the job nears completion, they fear that the monks will blame the computer, and by extension its operators, when nothing happens. The Westerners delay the operation of the computer so that it will complete its final print run just after their scheduled departure. After their successful departure on ponies, they pause on the mountain path on their way back to the airfield, where a plane is waiting to take them back to civilization. Under a clear starlit night sky they estimate that it must be just about the time that the monks are pasting the final printed names into their holy books. They notice that "overhead, without any fuss, the stars were going out."

haha, for all we know, some other "alien" collective consciousness out there already successfully completed this exercise, and the stars have been going out for . . . well, who knows? are those far, flickering pins of light still out there? some of them could be gone already . . .

I feel such a tender indifference in those far flickering pins of light

as close as I can get to a god particle these days.

Yes
My faith is god and science is restored
I can hardly wait to see how the discovery will change our lives
I am sure we'll soon have the opportunity to buy an Igod from Apple based on some new quantum miracle of the market place.

god help me for my cynicism
