Rhythmically inspired by John lee hooker’s House Rent Boogie
Get off work, Head to the store
Buy just one brown bottle cause I’m hitting the trails tomorrow.
Get home; rip the cap off that sucker
And drain it to the dregs.
Now what?
I want another.
I’m not going to the bar cause I’m a reclusive ass motherfucker
But I will drive to the store
Get there and my favorite six pack’s on sale
Better only have a couple cause I’m hitting those trails tomorrow
Get home; throw them all back and somehow its 1:30 A.M.
Better get to bed.
Wake up and my heads swimming and my stomachs sick
Got those old brown bottle blues again.
Pull the blankets up over my head
And sleep in till 11:30
Better get up if I’m going.
So I get some coffee and head up to the mountains
Time for a nice hike, my favorite thing.
Start out but soon I’m sweating and huffing and gasping for breath
Damn that bottle!
This is no good, I’ve had enough of
Those damn brown bottle blues
It’s time to
Stop.
