in the green mouth of foamy stars

Post by revolutionrabbit » November 4th, 2012, 4:51 am

I'm in that open honey time
when things become manifest
along the Big Sur coastline
the big surreal cloak of fog
comes in like lost words
for a joy ride

language becomes a pine needle
in the eye of the pacific chaos storm
becoming very slur real
we are at the dime store of logic
way down thine hill of lava lamps

Buddhists sit in captains chairs
of great parchments of time and honey
great shadows are navigated in thine mine
waxing currants nirvana castaways

the temptation to read becomes enormous
vast reasons for being walk down shores
of vivid imaginations basking in the surreal
waves of pearl wisdom's wash over the sun

moon beams light up through the galleon
floatillas of mountain red wine bottles dance
in the green mouth of foamy stars

big sur, 1977...
and the crumbs of a fine spinach souffle,
still stuck in my beard...
man, could those santa barbara college girls
cook a good one.
the orange sunshine state,
the L.A. quake of '62,
and then manson...

sorry for the loose memories... but I love the poem

I don't know of loose memories
is the same as lose memories,

...and then Manson
came through the bathroom window
with his bag of lost flower children
his jail bird bible haunted eyeballs
rolling with visions of law and chaos

loose memories,
lost minds,
and sticky keys....
sorry

but what I'd really like to know,
is what does the poem mean to you

thankx

Anecdotally, when Oppenheimer was working at Göttingen, Dirac supposedly came to him one day and said: "Oppenheimer, they tell me you are writing poetry. I do not see how a man can work on the frontiers of physics and write poetry at the same time. They are in opposition. In science you want to say something that nobody knew before, in words which everyone can understand. In poetry you are bound to say... something that everybody knows already in words that nobody can understand."
thank you for the poetry

grun yun running, and the sea banging-
excellant- took me back to hitch 8) hiking as a young girl- loved this- thank you
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
