Swat

Here in this picturesque riverside glade
Uncalled for arrives another unwanted guest
Swiftly reminded of rules and conditions long made
The wire handle swatter and a buzzing pest
There are others splattered upon the pages
Those so swatted through out the ages

A mud dauber’s dreams end with a splat
Unexpectedly caught between swatter and wall
Soon to be tossed out dead upon a welcome mat
Another flick of the wrist with no thought at all
Not mindful of the barbed stinger still intact
The mud dauber’s dying and last willful act

A painful lesson and red swollen hand
Still not mindful of the neighboring hornet’s nest
Lord and lady, the proud regents of this riverside land
Forever swatting away at another unwelcome guest
Mosquitoes, flies, gnats, wasps and bumble bees
Even the blue tail skinks, down from the trees

A tall glass, or better a tall plastic tumbler and thick piece of paper.

Wait until the stinging insect lands on the wall or any flat surface, carefully trap it between tumbler and surface, slightly raise the tumbler just enough to slide paper over opening as to trap the stinging insect inside then release it outdoors.

I use to live near a beekeeper.

It works good with spiders as well.
