I'd want to be the uncivilized man, one that is just... a bit amiss,
uncultivated, sort of unrefined, seemingly... difficult to the touch,
it presents a better fate to follow, 'round the edges of that abyss,
I'll take my chances out beyond the walls... thank you very much
I'm no citizen looking to be cloned, if it is known what that means,
and as every city crumbles, it won't be me there showing the pity,
I'll just be passing down some history, and passing on the genes,
in that kingdom, amongst the clutter and confusion... sitting pretty
primitive has its privileges, and I reckon I'll be retrieving me some,
yes, uncivilized is my best bet, the odds may even be in my favor,
and catch as can catch, civilizations rise too, but you won't see one,
relish the conceptual plot or not, but to exploit it is nothing to savor
I may as well be unsociable too, whilst society just rejects the crisis,
but counter to the revolution, I've found it best to let that old dog die,
can't miss the inevitable end... as mankind is left to its own devices,
so don't look for me at the wake... it's not my place to stand and cry
I think I would like to be... (technically), unfit for human assumption,
animal tendencies aside, I'll bite first and then, ask for seconds later,
but before you pass me off as mad, don't pass along the dysfunction,
I may not be your cup of soup, but then again... you're not my waiter
so call me savage or call me cruel... that much I'll give gladly to you,
but if one won't rise to the occasion, he chooses... to fall into decay,
civilization is a chronic condition, and the truth is its bitter pill to chew,
but just relax, sit back and watch, as this illness begins to fade away

Favourite lines of a fine poem.
