leaned back slowly
lids closed in sync,
my mind locates the wetness
of tires on Harford Road
like a meditation waterfall
car after bus after truck
soul cleansing splashes
imagined rubber, meeting puddled blacktop
a drenched crescendo
of spinning commuters in tempo
transforming
morning robotic functions
into peaceful droplets of song
to someone with this acquired taste,
me
and once you have it
this seventh sense
its like floating on demand
a magic carpet ride of vulcanized mist
floating high above the waking city
while still nestled in your comfy chair
urban meditation
urban meditation
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

Re: urban meditation
i like this - all of it- in my chair
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

Nice lyric. Very expressive images. And I like this stanza which is the crux of the poem I think.
transforming
morning robotic functions
into peaceful droplets of song
to someone with this acquired taste,
me
though the previous stanza is outstanding too. Loved the imagery and words to express the images
car after bus after truck
soul cleansing splashes
imagined rubber, meeting puddled blacktop
a drenched crescendo
of spinning commuters in tempo
