Here I am in the trance to evaluate 42 plus 29 kids in four materias ... but my sense of humor is ok, so no problem! Besides Dejours is visiting us (I coudn´t visit him ´cause work issues though) ... but his articles seems interesting , see:

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/psico ... 05-02.html

http://www.topia.com.ar/autores/christophe-dejours

too much work this week to know what the media news says but some days ago my brother was smirking about our economy team and today a neighbor was shouting something about the president through his window so I decided to look at the news´s sites I use to look at to see what was happening: all too much technical, repetitive, esoteric or whatever (the dollar here and its wide? spectrum), the medio oriente dilemmas in a new skin (poison or not poison in the Damascus´s way this time), human dark-side atrocities (from Cleveland to the Borda to our own murdered ones)...

but what got my attention in a weird kind of way were two articles:

one about the Pope encouraging? nuns to be "spiritual mothers" instead of "solteronas" ... well, Francisco/Jorge ... you always sounded in an stereotypical old scolastic argentine way, you know it? ...

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/elmun ... 05-09.html

the other one, surfacing counterpunch I found an article about U2´s Bono citing C.L.R James in it (I bought in Cuba and half read "The black jacobins"...) it made me wonder if sometimes it´s not just good to take a song as a song and forget the rest (easier I guess when the songwriter and songsinger is not from your zone or in your language) ... I took a look into the author´s site and I found too moving texts, so wonderful he still want to write about music and pets...! :)

"Strange Argentina ghost town that was underwater for 25 years re-emerges as tourist attraction" that was here in the news last week."

The News here filled with stories from the heart of darkness

I listen to the music.

great photo, s-t! :)

Angelina an her medical option everywhere since yesterday ... I don´t know if it was a "brave" or not "brave" option (not my bussiness) but I can empathize with how it feels to carry the heavy load of having a mother who suffered because cancer since her forties and died at a not easy death ... (men of the family tend to desdramatizar but they don´t are in your skin...) plus to deal with the let´s call "options" of nowadays´s medicine ... :? so, best luck to you, Angelina! :)

our PMO from the year 2000 (!) (Obligatory medical plan) -the one we have the ones with only Obra Social coverage- have a gap between the obligatory annual mammography and the already diagnosed cancer ... (if you need because your familiar historial -genetic testing would simple science fiction here- biopsies or addicional testing you have a big delay for approbation and you have to pay part of them in particular way). It´s a kind of burocratic nightmare, you need money plus your own "rollo" going on (as we say here...)...

And yeah, actual technology at some point is frustrating, elitist and savage and to be under continue screening and to be reminded in a very concrete way that you don´t have the kind of "control" you want to have it´s not easy and a sometimes rough learning ... and everyone is telling you advices, you feel stupid, guilty, angry, with anguish and with the urge of "to do something". This time, they helped me with this urge plus they listened to me an ayurvedic doctor, a friend who does sound theraphy and a fitoterapist doctor who does muscle testing and celular memory (all friends or friends of friends) -I love plants, to talk, to read, essences, massages, music and cooking- they couldn´t do me harm! And of course, I had to pay for all those services! . I still have to go to my ginecologist to show her the biopsy´s and the prolactina pool´s results (she was ill and overworked: I have to phone her in these days for a turno ...).

I just found this article by Fabián Fay saying that in Rosario the genetic exam to know if you have the genes that causes hereditary breast cancer is possible at a "not inviable" cost of 8000 pesos and that some prepagas and obras sociales are covering it (I wonder where he really lives ... :?: )... damn, Angelina...!: I hope neither my doctor has now the bright idea of doing it nor I get obssesed with the idea myself!!!!!! :? (I´ll have to get a credit and at the same time resign at least two vacations in the next years...! and then ... who knows?...) sometimes, sometimes ... ignorance is bliss...!

I discovered yesterday that my ginecologist has problem with my Obra Social and it´s possible that she leave it, maybe that´s why her evitative and erratic behaviour lately ... I finally told her the biopsy results by the phone ... her only words were "read to me only the last sentence" and "congratulations!, come to the consultorio as soon as they give you a turn not matter that it´s in two months" ... it´s crazy but maybe it´s good this way, who knows?...

interesting article today in pagina12 remembering all the hard work (not luck) that led Videla to a common jail ...

mingo: maybe it´s a case of deictic´s power working on ...!

so beautiful photo, gracias!! :D Today´s here more rainy-like and I´m not in a kajack ... just sitting and watching greys & greens & browns scrolling through the window :)

Last week I recived a call from our sindicato´s chief in reply to a letter that I sent to him and to the Obra Social autorithies or whomever about how I had to suffer the lack of information and lack of logical & human response to reclamos I thought -for different reasons- they were valid (before three months of reclamos in different stages). In the letter I tried to say that there must to be a more democratic way to be heard in a reclamo without having to talk with the "chief" of the sindicate "directly", that I felt that practice burocratic, verticalist and bordering mafia procedures. I finished the letter saying that because my biopsia went well and I have now a humor shift I limited to write to him/them in a more or less polite way, if things were different maybe I would opted to do other thing.
The sidicate "boss" called (because he won´t write what he said, for sure....) and talked for half an hour trying to explain the unexplainable ... he said he felt a completely stupid while reading the letter :?: , that they didn´t know that the way they did me the biopsia procedure was the only one available now in the city and they didn´t know also the extra-costs and he was so sorry for the misinformation and that the all system is in crisis and that they don´t want to be burocratic but ... Well, in síntesis they will pay for the full study and since June they will pay for that kind of study to every woman in my Obra Social who need it to do it ... that´s good news but it also re-afirm they way they use to work and solve the problems, so damn...! :? and maybe I was a little mafiosa too this time, who knows...

Yeah - i have a hard time dealing with bureaucracies in any form - it just seems so anti-common sense that I just walk away from it when I can. Can't always do that though but I would rather endure a tooth extraction any day. Sometimes it's relatively painless which always surprises me it is so rare.

I'm glad for sure though that things worked out very well for you.

Videla has passed? How did it happen?

yeah, it seems the waters needed to be agitated for a while .. and life goes on..

how Videla passed? (interesting the word you used ...for me, the word passed is more intrigante/problematic than simply died concerning Videla ...).Heart attack or something like that. A very human end ...

yeah we all got one of those - but for the moments granted us we certainly are full of it - ha!
to tell you the truth I didn't know much about Videla so after I sent you that post I went googling on him ... found out more than I wanted to know of him - sometimes being able to do the gathering of facts does not mean we should...

oh, well ... too much patriotismo, too much futbolismo in Rosario... See:

http://www.pagina12.com.ar/diario/suple ... 06-18.html

yeah ... the football mundiales again... (I can´t avoid thinking in 1978 mundial despite things changed somehow for sure for us and most of latinoamerica...) I hope the revolts in Brasil won´t put lifes in danger with confrontations with the police... at distance the fact to put some distance (sorry for the redundance) & to be critic with the football bussiness thing seems healthy for them but who knows...

Justice beyond borders

The Plan Condor trial has reverberations beyond Argentina, offering the opportunity of justice denied to many victims.
