I was thinking about them black smokers on the ocean bottom where some say life on earth originated. I was thinking about St John and the light in the darkness.

It was supposed to read search engine evaluator but for some reason when I write that it has a squiggly red line under the word "evaluator"

Re: elevator operator
I did not feel like getting into a fight to the death with my spell checker so I just wimped and let it correct it to elevator. Elevator operator may be the only job I am suited for these days.

Tomorrow I ride. Getting back on the road.
I love to free wheel, love that Georgia Ove drive

I used to have V-fer Saab with overdrive. Loved that car till it broke and then it became a Sob.

Happy trails amigo

still looking for the link to the Karbella picture, Karbella got a squiggly line under it too :x

I checked out your link - where can I get a job like this? Epiphany - I'm gonna have to be dead to not need a job any more - my spellchecker has a weird glitch in it's nature too, every once in awhile it will tell a word is misspelled that I know is spelled correctly so I click on it for shits & giggles and the "Correct" spelling shows & it's the same as what I have written (a little of the Magnificent Seven theme right here please) - makes me want to go paint a cave holding a lamp in my hand - shits & giggles - imagine being one of those intrepid human beings so eager to go to Mars and willing to put their very ass in the hands of computers the whole way there - uh-huh - I get lots of squiggle lines under what I write from the spellcheck anyways because of the way I use words so I'm not apt to pay much attention to it these days -

you're talk of overdrives dovetails with what I been reading about internal three-speed bike hubs recently - funny the things that come to you for your finding out when the last thing in the world you were looking for to do was to find out something about something - anyways ... on these hubs the middle gear (2nd) is considered your main drive gear - low is for hills and grades but the top gear is considered an overdrive ratio - never knew that - the way I look at bike gearing and landscapes these days is entirely different from the way I used to think about it - I mean people say their bikes have 18 or 21 or whatever "speeds" - but that's not true at all - they have 18 or 21 gears - whole different meaning - damn ya know to find out that a word is meant not so much to enlighten or convey or communicate but to change the way you look at something and that change is the whole meaning of the word regardless of what it's meant to describe -

This concludes the soapbox portion of our program ...

Welcome to the land of the free & the home of Holy Jesus Chrysler!

Hey Mark! - in & out of dreams for sure
and listening to the crickets by the roadside
feeling almost sorry for ol' Hanshan
he had his mountain, for sure, the ol' goat
but he never had a bicycle !
i'm wheelin the roadsides of central Yew Nork
and lovin it all
got 2 bikes and lookin to buy a third
think I want one of those fixie's
just because it looks like all kinds
of fun & trouble -
& Lord knows I've always had
a soft spot for those two things

words trailed off into the sky where falling stars made more sense than anything anybody had to say- made the mistake- of asking the skies ='WHERE ARE YOU GUYS? WE NEED YOUR HELP-'- AND then the most amazing thing went by - it had a long orange tail and it took twenty minutes to cross the sky while i lay in the back of my truck with the dog= staring at this beautiful thing=
the falling star while we spoke of things deep-
by the fire- the secrets melting in the coals- shaped like bears and dragons and beings from many many many eon s ago- sparking up the soul in a moment of kindness and generosity-
the world as i knew it is going to change- no guns - no nothing except the need for resilance and love= a pink light from our hearts to yours- open sesame-
i left something for them- a cigarette - a cup of coffee - a beautiful meal-
they gave me an artifact- in the creek- gotta love the cowlitz- natives-
yakima too= could do with out the wanna be medicine people= and the stuff they throw around like they had stardust in their pockets-had to reflect what they sent with mirrors- like magic- they can sit with it- it does not belong to me-
tired- i now sleep in a bed- the water is hot instead of ice melted snow- and i am grateful i can no longer smell my body like a wild animal-= although the animals are quite capable of staying far from us- i feel them stalking me in my dreams- where did you go? we miss the singing and the prayers for healing-sweetness like honey - i dream on- :?:

Where did who go? Me? Sometimes the best tricks are the ones we play on ourselves. I've always thought so - don't you? Know what I've noticed the past week? Toads. Little toads. All over the place. Some of them have their parent's brown coloring but others are almost all black. Negro toads. I mean bunches of these little guys. In the yard. In the woods. On my porch. I'm talking toads here, Jana - no, seriously. The toad nation is in full & vigorous swing. If the Rapture happens tomorrow or next week or next year there will be plenty of toads to go around. Practically overnight the great state of Yew Nork has become Toad City!

I've been overrun by toads. It has happened out that that's where I seem to have gone. You got toads out there?

The Toad Spangled Banner year for toads.

blue heron in my backyard left me a feather in the creek last week- went up on the mountain for two weeks and fell in with a cooper hawk- [feather]- came back= throwing a stick for the dog by the columbia river- near where the swAns live- where they dismantled a nuclear power plant in 98-99- GOBLE- and there- in the sand - was yet another heron feather- it would seem that i am to fly low in the marshlands- i saw baBy otter and mama -it was riding on mama s back when i went kyaking-=i saw deer- and eagles- but - no toads-
i can hear frogs sometimes in the creek- even crickets- but no toads-
i used to kiss frogs wanting them to be princes- n ow i just kiss- GATHERING CEDAR--
I HAVE A STYE IN MY LEFT EYE- i learned that means i am going to be a grandma- i have prayed for a grand daughter- i was the mother of sons which gives you the hips of an athalete- and having children can be like like getting pecked to death by chickens sometimes- although i love them- i will never be 'good enough' ha ha ha ha
so this no good woman did some good somewhere else-

Goin' along the top of Dutchman's ridge, a landform out of the last ice age.
Flat and level road up there. Easy money ya know on a bike but at the south end the ridge drops toward the swamp & I mean DROPS, Baby. 90 degree curve at the bottom of the drop and you come down off the ridge doin' 33 mph as you enter that curve on a 30 year old road bike ... they are the clipper ships of the bike world ya know, old school for sure but there is wolf blood in that steel frame. The spokes on your wheels goin' so fast in the drop making the sound of a word uninvented yet that begins with a Z Z Z >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
You begin to lean & I mean you have to fight to get it because your wheels are gyroscopes by now goin' so fast they just want to stay vertical so you fight for it but got to be as narrow as your tires 'bout it because there is a tipping point - you go past it you & the bike go down to the asphalt & goodbye skin, hello broken bone & blood.
Your brain wants to make you curl your fingers around the brake handles & pull HARD to shave off velocity but your heart, that bitch whore, whispers in your ear, " You're a daisy if ya do," and ya know it's too late now anyways 'cause your fast past the point - you the samurai now and that machine you're riding is your sword & your in a zone so narrow one hair either way makes a destiny for a fool. You hope there is no car coming the other way because as knife-narrow as your tires are you need the WHOLE road to pull the thing off - you do it - this time - you come flying out of that curve the wind jamming jamming jamming it's song in your ears ... and your on the flat to coast the whole way, a half mile, across the swamp. A blue heron, standing in two feet of black water & on his morning feed watches you go go by - the indecision showing in the tall bird's eyes - are you a threat or just part & parcel of all passing phenomenon? The bird decides, and goes back to his hunting.

awesome-- been surrounded by blue herons lately- the marshlands squishing and soothing the water world into an ooze that is palatable to them-walking a long a giant river with the deer in the sand near the trees= it seems like the end of the world- and the begiining all at once-i watched and the doe and fawn are staring at me- wondering what i am doing there- at sunset- watching the sky kiss the land goodnight-WENT AND TALKED TO SOMEONE- and then it was all complete like- filled with the resonance of days gone by-

Autumn rains here too but the crickets are still making a sex show out of it all - resonance doesn't work for them as they have no memories - I once watched a blue heron walking thru tall grass in a field and his beak would go down into the grass and come back up to be pointed toward the sky - each time whatever was caught in the heron's beak would disappear down the bird's throat - it took me some watching to realize the heron was eating mice one after another as he found them & he was finding them every few feet ... tonight I listen to the mice going back & forth in my ceilings as I write this - I could use a good heron this evening but I don't think he could fit into where the mice are now -

/ speaking of resonance if I could get my hands on a submarine right now I'd use it to dive beneath my gum lines to see where my teeth have gone -

The screws were removed that held the Pumpkin Man's head together and the small string winder, which took up most of the room in his head, had been taken away. It didn't work anymore and there was not another one available to replace it so the Powers That Be had ordained a new purpose for Pumpkin Man.

After the removal of the winder the top & bottom halves of his head were rejoined with the original screws & his stem, which had been drilled to accept the keychain, was prepared for gluing.

When his stem had been glued to his head the pumpkin man lay down on his paper plate and waited 'til it all should take hold. He had been promised when the glue was dry to be key-chained to a bicycle to spend the rest of his existence there. He didn't know one other Pumpkin Man who had ever been promised a fate such as this. He couldn't wait to feel the wind against his plastic face & he sat very still on his plate with his head propped up wondering of what it would be like.

the man wobbled with his wooden kayak back out of the water- the river was glassy- there was a piece of me- that floated over to thisland- or - ? so accross the river is this yellow house - that looks like someone thought they had a carribean beach summer spot- this is the columbia river- it is a woman who watches over her- and it is a very wide vein of water connecting places like seattle and portland-in a strange kind of way-the bicyclists -are measuring time- and our legs are growing stronger-there is a portion of this story- that we will never ever really know-the pregnant women in my life get the fluff left in my wings- the rest is just pure hard work- there were so many dreams on those lashes-she was afraid her dreams were really going to come true after all- they kind of were- she was slightly suspicious-that they- were helping at all- those goverment agenicies were rather unpredictable-
her brown eyes were do deep- she was experienced- in knowing what had happened- but was so light footed with the future- the horses were ready= she was riding- no matter what- didnt care where- back to something real and beautiful- her ancestors-and all her relations had blessed her- with more then she knew- today- the whole light around her head-was filled with the colors of youth ful creation-the sweetness made ya hungry or like cooking pancakes with huckleberry syrup--
the thoughts of hot summer nights before the baby was born- flew inside like a tender touch form the grandmothers- reflecting on the glow- and how reckless and free spirited the world seemed tragicly like a bowl of fruit in a cezanne painting- the beauty stung the heart with pangs of love- she looked up- and saw him there- like a pool of water- the images of a happy love - arms outstrtched- loving that child- as if it was God itself-- because it is- God- created by the very same vapors and the stars and the moonlight and quite mysterious in an eloquent dance accross the sky

I used to swim in the Columbia River, down at the mouth near Astoria. The current in that river scared me it was so strong. That current between a male and female like strange attractors, the two hands of God.
Sweet mysteries

the morning light came with my dog who likes to wake me up and snuggle- i am a strange bird and he knows that that is the best time to catch some love on the fly because im not running out the door asking him if he wants to go- or telling him why he cannot go- he gets a lil edgy when he sees them keys - but he gets to go if it is going to be fun- like to prescott beach- and the -RIVER- always = came from sand- palm springs- and i have sought water since my birth- when i came back from sun dance- i had to touch the ocean before my soul would come back-somehwere over montana i guess- i was flying- watching the frackers and the oil rigs= eating a hamburger on the rez- that i was unsure of- and lived-
every thing that ANYONE CAN DO0- I DONE IT-
OR TRIED TO- NOW I WANT TO SEE SOUTH AMERICA- BEEN TO AFRICA- BEEN TO EUROPE- BEEN TO THE ISLANDS- AND WELL- JAMACIA- and now i want cuzco peru and chile- the selminak- and the flamigo spirits- i am eating mango salza and quinoa in prepration for my shapeshift into spanish and any beautiful healing techniques i can learn- those birds with the big beaks- anyways there are spanish immersion classes for two weeks- my friend lives there with his woman who is a healer-
i think that really- if we are to learn about others - we have to smell them- eat the food- drink the herbal potions - and only in this way can we know that kind of compassion and love- and if i am wrong- i want to die trying to love- in all the mysterious ways i can- but as of late i am having some perhaps unclean thoughts about nuns and hail mary - and all that cathloic stuff is so beautiful- st jude will have to assist- st francic di assisii and all the ones that renounced the material world to be a more spiritual person-
i love you= there was this photographer and he went around the world taking pictures of people- and he took everything they owned and put it out on the lawn- and the whole family-
and geez - i would feel naked humilated- and like i was violated- but really-= it was an interesting look at what people collected and thought was important-
hoarders want no intruders- period- they build little glass and paper walls and throw sheets over it so they do not have to look-
all of this has given way more creedence to having a light load and a white room with black curtains-and a large screen tv and cable- after my stint in the wahniha valley with no tv- i just walk and work out and make my body do things it could not do before anyways-
before the injuries= now it is like a very long testimony to healing and all the things you can do to heal- which most people dont want to- they just want to have fun- i can be a FUN BUN IN THE SUN- really- but =sitting- is not an activity- - at any rate- the barn cats and the coca flavored dog are still around- Mr is my dog- people say he would talk if he could- i think he does fine- i hear him just fine- i guess it all depends just what you listen to- my father always said 'eyes are the window to the soul' yesterday i had to slam it shut- we have a cross dressing ranch hand and i had a hard time with the turquoise teddy early in the morning while lil calli was getting ready for portlandia= and here comes'jimmy -rickie' early in the morning- all flaming anfd friendly- does he not see outside the *) 80 acres? this here is the hillbie-redneck gay hating woods- brokeback mountain is not there-- so-
maybe do that at night- shit- anyways- who am i really? a fifty six year old woman doing prayers for jimmy and rickie to merge into one- as seperate people- it can be confusing- how did i get here- - this isnt the first time- nor will it be the last- yesterday the voo doo woman stuck needles in me-and today i await herbal medicine from the golden cabinet delivered by ups-it is all so very moderna- meeting a guy from 'bikers in your area' that ought to be a lil bit better than yahoos personals- i just dont see them- the men- i see whjtever goal i have going on and i get outta town-but on line they post pictures- it has been four years-i know im not dead- i still feel hot and cold- and all the rest-
that sweetness of the mangoand the 'heat' in with the quinoa is a real nice deal- been wanting to fy up some shrimp and make a gumbo- there was a time when all of these things made no difference at all-
yet i have been watching- and i know what i seen- i seen many miracles all created in love-
but today the paint is calling me-

the rain came- the dog got run over by the truck- i am now doing vet- in the morning- the dog is just too sweet- shows me his paw is broken- an he - feels slightly foolish on his bed =[large dog pillows ] = has the look like some of the men i have loved- loving being cherished- but not really- smiling = he is high on pain medication- and i am happy it isnt wrose- always feel like mommy dearest when anything goes wrong- with my kids- and with my animals- i guess i kind of take shit too personal--
in kauai it rains like this- the palm trees kracle like drums- and they say- 'it is a blessing' RAIN -as it falls down my cheeks=- with the sweetness of summer washing away- all the hard work- the ceremonies- the way we save each others lives with love-and where was i- i was everywhere and no where- and you and i were together and we were apart= i saw things from above and from below- and then in the distance was a future glowing with love- healing and hard lessons- along with the gentle and kind-
