busy lives we lead
complicated lives

seeking simplicity
in herbs
and
wildflowers

seeking
beauty
in
colour
in
fragrance
in
movement
as they bob

they stimulate
they calm
they heighten senses
they heal

they give
life
to big
places
and
to small
places

to fields
and
to concrete

i know people like that

virtual
interaction
with herbs
and
people
will
do
sometimes
but
only for a short time

it is no substitute for the real thing
i want to breathe you deep

I will flex my plectrum
the string is tight
as a saline ambition
christs being born every minute
naked as babes
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

How do you blow the frost off an empire?
You just put your lips together.
cinnamon is another answer. Only
only Spring knows for sure,
but she's not telling.
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

can i hold
your plectrum
i know it
as a sacred piece
feel its energy
feel your energy

depending on
the plectrum
and
the hand
that holds it
strumming
releases
a different beat

did you know
not everyone
finds beauty
in each others
beat

mystery

as with herbs
what some find fragrant
others find pungent

but the healer
understands the healing
power contained
in each stroke
of every plant

floral
citrus
spicy
fruity
nutty
blends

the makings of good jam
of good jammin'

yummy
i reach out
and stroke
what is here
i breathe deep
yummy

Take two solos?
Hell no, I'll take three
like a steroid coltrane
lips on fire with vibration
a tournament of spices and spasms
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

whitebird singin' in the life of day
take these broken dreams and learn to skateboard
all your life
you were only waiting
for this rhythm to unfold
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

lightning rod
thinks fast
sees large

helps me see

all is one

jasmine
jamisen
shamisen
3 taste strings
played
with a plectrum

vibrating petals
release the healing
vibrating strings
release the healing
vibrating lips
like coltrane
release the healing

it is spring
everything is vibrating once more

i bob
i vibrate

you too?

spring puzzles me
hard to tell
if she is a vibration
or just a hum

an om shanti
of deft fragrances
or the sound of a
plucked feather
anonymous memory
of winter and the plague

if winter is lead
then spring is hydrogen
escaping and flammable
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

seeing by the light of the rod
all that is left is to take another risk

skateboard i will

across fields
where
the
fragrance
of
jasmine
jamisen
shamisen
coltrane
and
jerry garcia
flood our senses

so that we live large
vibrating lips
will keep on jammin'
vibrating hearts
never die

phoenix is our bird
fire in the belly

if I itch my suspicion
it smells like the penetration of spring
seven inches of lust on the earth
before they pour the concrete
"These words don't make me a poet, these Eyes make me a poet."

across a huge log
over an immense
cavern..................

Ouch (wink)

as a whitebird
i
rub my wing
from whence
you
plucked the feather (smile)

and still we rise!
and
sing om shanti

om shanti
a vibration from deep within
one that is universal
one that allows us to recognize
life in cinnamon
and the cinnamon to recognize
life in us

no need to see
with eyes
we move toward
the om shanti

I hear
I smell
I feel
the
fragrant
beat
of your words
