T.S. Elliot was wrong:
it's March.
Spring arrives as an illusion
that the winter is over,
but those brief moments in the sun
etch perennial memories.
We should have learned this
in school while hearing tales
of Camelot and the Cross:
every beautiful thing is bound
for desecration.
The heart is fragile flower.

the heart
the heart blooms in the presence of love
it expands and leaks
crying at movies,
sudden childish grins
and distant phone calls at unexpected moments
the heart fades in the absence of love
it contracts and shrivels
sneering at romance
avoiding playgrounds and toystores
and pulling the plug from the cordless
so that nevermore will there be intimate moments
it expands and leaks
crying at movies,
sudden childish grins
and distant phone calls at unexpected moments
the heart fades in the absence of love
it contracts and shrivels
sneering at romance
avoiding playgrounds and toystores
and pulling the plug from the cordless
so that nevermore will there be intimate moments
Yes, well, illusion or not I welcome it...
come on spring!
Love all this writing!
Hope springs eternal
Spring hopes eternal.....
come on spring!
Love all this writing!
Hope springs eternal
Spring hopes eternal.....
