What would you like to reclaim?

Post by Doreen Peri » October 26th, 2013, 9:32 pm

What would you like to reclaim?
Your name? Your health? Your wealth?
The missing time? The rhyme you didn't
understand when it hit your head? The way
dead moments pause when they're frequently lost
to the atmosphere? Please be more clear about
what you'd like to reclaim from the neglect.
Respect? Honor? Attention?

Oh, the air is thick and I am sick
in my heart with hurt for you, my love
for your being extreme, and I deem myself
now unworthy.
Responsibility
is yours but I am here
in accord with your wisdom.
What can I do for the
self-dismally-thought beauty?

Send my whole soul through a black hole
of time (which doesn't exist) and arrive
at your doorstep, never to be dismissed?

Give you a hug? Bug those who claimed what
should have been named as yours?
I adore you and I wouldn't want to burden you
with any of the above but if I can
stuff my pockets full of glee,
I would do so for thee,
and free your spirit to the wind.
I will never rescind
this offer.

This is one of the best poems I have read in a while. A poem I believe I can return to many times. Enjoyed. 8) 8)

I'd like to reclaim my penis. It disappeared into a magical la-la & I wasn't aware of it at the time. I went about my business as if everything were the same. It was a dog that alerted me to the situation twenty years after the fact. He looked at me and said, "What happened to your penis?"
I looked down & went "OMG!"- - Immediately I went to work & opened many books. Wrote 276 poems. Invoked & evoked. At first I was terrified but then acceptance set in. The years slipped by my door. I learned to live in other ways. I recieved the gift of faith. I know, right now, that my penis is out there somewhere in the wilderness looking for me. My dog died and I buried him in an unmarked grave as the highest honor for he had asked me the profoundest question of all.

Thanks for asking.
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

that is funny- and beautiful - and filled me with what i thought i had lost- in came the laughter and changed the colors of this gray day- i would reclaim the love- i felt i lost- because i didnt say something right- because i didnt know how... because- love was the only thing that ever really meant didley sqwat anyways- i have had to reclaim my life because i was dying- which i am still- a lil at a time- the fact that i can inhale and exhale is a real miracle-
i think that if i had that love - i would treat it differently- like it had more value than the young girl thought- than the middle aged woman felt- and then === now- the love i feel- that seems like fog or misty rain- just subtle like that- there - right here- sort of mysterious in its own right- not having to be so up front in center- like a back bone of really strong support=
i think i would have believed that there were more important things to think about than my hair or my shoes- or on where i lived- yet those all came to pass as they did-
these days i just have to be happy that i did what i did- even if i am a lone wolf-i would have told my children more about myself- i wouldnt have pretended things didnt bother me= that really did-- or pretend they did when they really didnt- in other words - i have to reclaim my soul- that has bourne the wear and tear of all those various directions that led to 'dead end' and i had to pick up the pieces and move forward in love- no matter how i felt- no matter what i did-because i guess that is really all that belongs to me- and how i will treat that soul is as if it were from God....GREAT POEM..INSPIRATIONAL- PROVOKING- LOVED IT

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
