Back up to the wire cave
Twisting and turning
Yearning and burning
Jam never slam
The Sam I yam
The one sizzling in
the frying pan
Jump on thru the fire
Hold on for the sink or swim
In a life that'll damn sure
let you know
You'll never win
Just gotta jump on in
Get with the flow
Always moving, a nomad
on the go
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

slamin is jamin
no I think only good thoughts
got to accentuate the positive
got to negate the accentuate
all energy got to flow
from pole to pole
it is only natural
slam a jam
jam a slam
lost in the ozone it is all good to me
we ain't
never going to win through words
talk is cheap in America
thank god talk is still free
one thing is sure we be a talkative bunch of primates
some of us are blessed to make it sound like poetry
the sound of music in their words
me I sound like a concrete wall
oh well
save the oceans save the children don't worry about me
I can save myself cause Nietzsche died for my sins
I should have been
a Cistercian monk

From Appalachia to The Texas Valley this land belongs to...

German settlers in Texas got along good with the fierce Comanche becaue they were honorable men, good people they settled here in in the 1840's, believed in freedom and democracy, hated slavery, so when the dumb ass Texans went to the confederacy they became outlaws because they would not fight for slavery and the Heroic Texas Rangers ran them down like dogs and killed them.

Looking at that is like a religious experience for me
maybe not religion,
mystical maybe
not the right word either

touches a sea longing in me
a feeling of homelessness

thanks for letting me see it

thermometer here goes up and down by as much as 45 degrees from day to day
sixty-eight yesterday, shorts and T shirt weather
twenty-three tomorrow night.

I sure would like to make it to spring
but I ain't living long like this
I need to post a selfie here
just to remind me how bad I am
I thank goodness for these kind south Texas winters

no mad nomad anymore
nailed my shoes to the kitchen floor
almost this year went back to Virginia
going to go in the spring god willing and my car don't die

Ocean City Maryland
March sometime in the seventies
my lost decade
god dam it was cold
standing up there in the tearing wind
on the roof of the pyramid
had to go up everymorning to check the ballast for the scaffolding hanging down twenty seven stories

fear of heights
I remember how lucky I felt to be making good money to face my fears
so near to my mother ocean

always loved that Jimmy BUffet song A Pirate Looks at Eighty
a song about occupational hazards

this morning I can't get enough of NIck Lowe
I just discovered him, trying to remember who has the tag line about watching Nick Lowe eat a sandwhich

this been a long ride this perpetual jam
thinking about places I been happier this morning

I been happy, I been sad, I been in love with the perpetual jam a long time now, eversince December 2004 I think at the steel pier in atlantic city

It's perpetual
It's what we have
It's who we have
It's why we have it
It's jam
It's lay it on the land
It's word music
It's it don't need no seal to approve it
It's hop on board
It's perpetual and it's jam!

as it unfolded i sat there stunned

wild & edgy and just digging deep into your soul
man i know you know what i'm talkin' bout
this kind of stuff is food & a half
yas yas yas as that Neal fella might have said

occupy your mother tongue
and take me with you!

got orange oil extract in my coffee
sitting here with things
going thru my mind
past present future
all in there
lying all on top of one another
it looks like a big pissing mess
but it's a living breathing thing
that squirms around & sends out
its own shoots & hoots & hollers
it's really impossible
but so much fun
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Coffee'd out here at cafe
Buzz of folks @ tables
A couple of us at the bar
Jam on rising Appalachia
Jam on blue ridge
Some time I'm just gonna head
on out into those mountains
A free bird
Jamming the daze away

Coiled tension
Wired
Belly of butterfly
Allow us to love
No flame
No flicker
Copper & black
Tension
Confusion of the night
Rebirth
Awakening
Constant spiraling
A dream driven machine

dream at the wheel?
could be - all of us
in our doctor bags
little black dreams
seeking the sick
going door to door
the molecules politely parting
so that we may pass
we have movie lungs
we have stories
we not only carry the next word
we carry the whole next line
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
