this nomad is a yes-mad
totally bonkers mad
i believe for no good reason
i smile for even less
i run from corner to corner
to get it all done
get what done?
get what hurry?
mad, i tell you
totally crazed
within a small package
bones, flesh, spark of life
crank on
this mission impossible
with each breath

where's Mr. Jack Sock Puppet Texas?
this is a crew!
i missed ya all

& said it again
o yeah

it's 7 degrees above zero
& the world keeps rolling on
i wasnt gonna mention it but
my cousin dropped by yesterday
he lost his wife a few weeks ago
but got a new woman already
he looks at me he says "life is short"
and ain't it the truth?
he says she's a good girl by way of meaning
she's taking care of him in a way he likes
first time he's seen my dog
he goes "damn that's a BIG dog!"
i say yeah he's a big wuss too
he reaches down cautiously to pet him
i say don't worry 'bout Bean - he's king of the gringo blues
& his zen is solid

Jesus is king in my heavenly home
And Jack Kerouac is my patron saint in hell
man the shit I got about that guy on litchicks
oh well
some women just don't like me

maybe it's my smell

all you can do with grandma is wait her out

oh man it is twenty four degrees here this morning
yesterday was bike weather if a little wet

you made my day
born jammers

we got a to hammer on it

cause it is dry road and sunshine
except in the shadows where the run off from the melting snow has frozen overnight on a hair pin curve coming down east bound off of Soldier Summit Utah, and it is Jesus at the wheel and Buddha cool on his stool
time sweet time to jam

maybe not so much a guy thing as a vanity thing

just complicates things, j and d think it is kind of dumb but they tolerate me

a new wife?
I don't know what the proper time to mourn a wife life lost

reminds me of His Last Duchess

me I will never marry
how many times in a lifetime can a man find true love and run from it
three times?
A portrait of guilt
hung on the wall

the boys are singing
me and billy the kid never did get along
the road goes on forever

if we ain't movin
we ain't free
my time moves faster
and I move slower
a dam good cosmic joke
on a TV show called beat the clock
a custard pie of karma in my face

Words arms
Jam tendency
Action blitz
~GO! Extreme
This little jam
Winding within
Cyber spaces
Places deep behind mind
Excursions to the razors flip
Getting us through those
Winter nights
Knowing everything's gonna
be alright
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Sands time
Slipping

Might just be
That old lickity-split
Spells cast

All that ritual shit

Like going to the country fair

Checking out the llamas

A day flying on high

Kissing Jimi's skies
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

she loved her rituals
her yahrzeit candles
we had so many around the house, empty for use as glasses
she watched over me so none could cast the evil eye on me
had a big floor model radio that we listened to the news from all the ships at sea in the forties

she uncircumcised my heart
never escape her aura
like having Gertrude Stein for a grandmother
made me feel blessed to be a man child
and a fortunate son in the new world
jimi bless america again

second attempt
first attempt wiped out in an errant mouse click
that's the way it goes in cyber space
meanings leak from pixels

neolithic childhood of junkyard memories
broken toys and love

and then there this long ramble about three story brick houses in Baltimore fit for a Polish prince, a Polish peasant woman who owned it by reason of a dowry from crazy mike for her eldest daughter, who was a first generation born in a kibbutz in New Jersey princess, who years later asked her mother "What kind of mother would let me marry a man like that"
And her mother said, "I don't know because I never had a mother"
Tinker Jack I call him, that avatar, saw his twelve year old daughter off to the new world courtesy of baron de hirsch, married three times, they kept on dying in childbirth,

tinker jack and the tidy wives a homage

way down in my inner Russia
i feel the refugee refrain
gathering wheat berries in my pockets
sweeping the walk
on the lookout for a friendly cave
in case we're on the run

grandmothers scalped
in the promised land
by those who were there first
whose claims were erased
by the hands on a clock face
old men painting mountains out in the desert
roads coast to coast
women having babies
along the way
cajuns hunting gators
in the back of
the black bayou
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
