lives escape
whitewater over the cliff of time
years tumble on to the rocks
what do we think about
in mid-flight, how
do we temper the crash of penance
of accelerated streams
of time and space
spinning and falling
there goes alice down the rabbit hole
end over end over end
how do we measure our true volume
what tables will suffice the task
who will be the judges and historians
who will document our promising ascent
who will find joy in the never-ending stories
about our fall
back to dust
back to dust
back to dust
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
you may end up where you are heading

Re: back to dust
I'm thinking... ants.
what worries do they know,
what triumphs do they boast about.
are they... happy
surly, they know about dust...
thanks

Re: back to dust
i'm definitely okay with going back to dust. although the seldom buddhist and reluctant catholic in me thinks there might be more. we'll see!
love this line:
"how do we measure our true volume"
seems to be an eternal search.
keep writing hard!
