just came from a site
where Bukowski's books are being sold
hundreds of dollars for books signed by
the old ratass stink-breath himself
if he can i bet he's laughing
we don't idolize
or treat with any kind respect
the guy who oils
the wheels on the boxcar trucks
or the person who hands us our burger
at the drive-thru
or the soldier who loads the guns
& pulls the triggers for us
... it's not a question of waking up anymore
we are way past that
it's a question of just how far
into a deeper sleep we can go
& how fast & how conveniently we can get there
zzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
how fast & how conveniently
how fast & how conveniently
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Re: how fast & how conveniently
I'm not much for trigger pullers
if the box car oil guy reads Bukowski
then all the power to him
I know that Bukowski made a big eye roll
that night I sat across the room from him
at the big poetry reading that everybody
who was anybody came too, and even some
local nobodies got to read, I was only a ticket taker
I will never forget when Hank got up to read
you could hear a pin drop, before the first word
left his mug, I know he made a big deal about
how phony everything is, how strange and stupid
our priorities are, but Bukowski was that one
in a million, that dared to say it like it is
trigger pullers and boxcar oilers aside
burger flippers, and high educated collage students
that can't get a job at Starbucks

Re: how fast & how conveniently
maybe the tv just needs to be shut off
the world like a sweet memory
spinning on an axix of hope
and good vibrations
the job is large
please send healing energy to everyone this evenng- whether you know them or not
because the sweetness emainates love
there is much to be confused about
but this is a small favor i ask---

reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
