call me mr. lucky

Post by saw » October 11th, 2014, 10:19 pm

I'm pleased to be writing again
as a daily habit, like combing
what hair is left in certain spots,
yeah...divorces and family illness
can really fuck up your routine,
but I'm back....
i stretch every morning
then meditate, drink two glasses
of spring water, write some poetry

then a protein drink stuffed with
leafy greens, then a shower
Look Out World
here I come

poetry is by far the best therapy i ever had
cheapest too
i write affirmations to match the metamorphosis
grateful for my health
and my skills
I swing my hammer, push my circular saw
through myriad pieces of lumber

turn dilapidation into smiles
old hats into propeller beanies
sand all the rough edges, yessir
every uneven surface gets attention
I turn ugly into artwork
and people hand me a little money
for enjoying myself,
am i lucky or what ?
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

lucky oh yeah
every day shows up
and delivers chances

ready to open the door
filled up with good stuff
you welcome what comes

repurposing wood is
amazing, i believe thats
what your relating here
right? its like bringing the grain
back to life
sanding the surface
causes an incredible beauty
to emerge
tough life experience
causes a deep felt
progression of thoughts
to emerge
we live
we suffer
we create
we continue
excellent poem steve
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
