I tried it...

the stop thinking thing

I got bored

strangely calm was I

but awfully bored

so I started thinking again

now I'm a wreck

but I'm not bored
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

Not thinking a great idea?

I think not.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

Logically impossible.

It would require conscious thought to try and eradicate thought.

not impossible, just very difficult.

like the skeptic's fire that burns itself out, or a disease that consumes its host and has no where to go but to die.
I don't think 'Therefore, I am.' Therefore, I am.

i thought about whether i was sure about what i was thinking and then thought i better not think that way because that wouldn't be conforming to the norm but when i thought about it again, i realized i had thought enough about the entire topic long enough to give it a rest and think about it later and so i did and when i thought about thinking about it again, it occured to me, not to bother and when i stopped thinking about thinking about it one more time, it was very clear that i had become a conformist and so i thought about it one more time.

listen
what do you think?
do you hold on to thoughts?
or let them flow?

Listen...
what do you hear?

neither think or not think
I think
I listen

empty sky
new moon
empty mind
Freedom's just another word...

Most of the time
thoughts are clutter
garbage in, garbage out
to empty the mind
like a trashcan
letting go of thoughts

listening
you are not clinging
to the thoughts
mind becomes an antennae
receptive

Artguy says, "Stop thinking!"
Traveler says, "Listen!"

Immediately...you stop and listen
the mind whirs on
the wheels keep turning
"it is difficult" says e_dog
"not logic" says mnaz
and yet

there is that point
that time when all thinking CAN stop
not holding on to a thought
letting it flow until
no thought arises

a trancelike state of mind
of thoughtlessness
thoughtfully
unthought out...
Freedom's just another word...

I like this thread.
Stop.
Not thinking can prove itself tricky.
Stop.
Breaking routines is highly advised.
