Dancer
In Aphrodite’s temple
Where ageless fires rage.
Eternal tender
Of love’s flame.
Pulsing swirl of liquid light.

A watcher
In frigid caverns
Beneath a buried age
Of pensive need.

I am Erato,
On Pointe I spun
Robed in joy.
Tumbled from a height
Beyond measure.
Spilled and left
Unsanctified.

A worshipper
Bathed in the light
Of a ceaseless moon,
Seen or unseen.
Burned
By faith’s constancy.

A boundless sea,
Undulating,
Unfathomable,
Drowningly deep,
Abysmal.

A superficial stream,
Singing over sand
And sun splashed rock.
A rivulet
In time’s tranquil run.

Sailor on the cusp of hope.
Plodder on the shore of reconcile.

Dreams, old and new
That shoot across
A million eons
Singe my fingertips.
