I smell hawk shit

Post by saw » February 13th, 2015, 8:09 pm

the hawks are beating the drums
they slap the skins with armed wings
cold war is retro cool
hot war simmers on the burners of stoves
made by westinghouse

one idiot in a suit could crank the knob to maxideath

everybody knows this cycle,
steal all the money from the maudlin poor
strip it all away
strip the leaves from the trees
strip the skin from the bone

start a new war, give it a slick name
to plaster over your ruthless fuck-ups
the king's head is safe enough
long as he can kill plenty of faceless bad men
with black beards

all the while reminding the citizens
that he's a claude-van-damnit genuine bad ass
no bogie-men can get you with me on the job
I got your back people,
and so it goes again and again and again

many will die....
some will fight valiantly for a lie
others will die trying to get out of the way,
their commonality lies in the similarity of their boots
none of them will ever be rich

its too late for them to change their gang colors....
from my desk I can only smell the foul stench of raptor crap
it's coming from the wooden ledge of my open window....
why is my window open in winter ?
I was trying to get a breath of fresh air away from the fucking television

but NO, only hawk shit enters my nostrils
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

So many decades of that ill wind . . . I find its relentlessness increasingly discouraging.

it is discouraging mnaz.....Steve Earle wrote a damn good song about the phenomenon..
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
