I Love You, My Dream

Post by theirishsea » February 25th, 2015, 10:15 am

on cold wet white dark damp days like today
when the tree bark intensifies its winter's dormancy
I try to get myself into chrome and glass architecture
order cocktails or straight gin, maybe with a red cherry
though I know that cherry is artificial color
but it's red, matches or complements your sweet lips
you wear a tight-fitting black dress
we have stepped out of a fashionable magazine
we hold our pose, arm wrapped in arm
over the glass table, wrestling gently
our eyes as hot as the transparent gin
how we burn into each other's heart, a cooking
a tenderizing of the raw into a succulent love
that we nibble on in our words, touches, glances
outside it is the same old forever world
with beggars and crones, clocks that can't tell time
here amid the chic banter of savoir faire
of faux gems and tailored suits we create
a world that many would condemn as decadent
but it is a hothouse and we are orchids
I a male of plumage, you a woman of soft
delectable skin that I taste like my drink
and I am intoxicated, so intoxicated
I love you, my dream
