you

Post by saw » March 2nd, 2015, 12:55 pm

I wanted to write a tribute to you
wanted to find all the salient words
tie them up in a fragrant sachet, so
I meditated on the complexity of the task

I could see you bathing in liquid rainbows
love was radiating from your nakedness
you were glowing in your shy brilliance....
my mind could see all of you

my heart could feel the weight
of your limitless passion, yet
I fully understood the words were not coming,
not today, nor any day soon

those words would need to simmer
in a cerebral kettle on low blue fire
til the flaming white heat appeared in my skull
like the wildfires of out of control marauders

simmer, til lightning strikes cracked
the hollow warming sky, cosmic bullwhips
of awakening
to snap the debilitating grasp,

of the latent winter fog
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Such a lovely poem! What beautiful imagery. This is a tribute any "you" would be honored to receive. Fine writing here, Steve. Thanks for sharing this.
