she was more salt brine
scales of shining skin shone in the sunlight
the eye follows as the fisher man takes
the hook from her mouth
she swims in a small bucket of water on the pier
the old man looks at her
like a woman with hunger in his eyes
old teeth smile down at her
his loneliness had disappeared-
he took his catch home-
talked to her real nice
gave her what every woman wants
some good conversation
loving attention
that night the fisherman had a dream
it told a story of the fish
and the families of many generations
when he awoke= the fish loked deeply into his soul
he spoke to the fish
i am going to have to eat you
i am old and i need you to heal what ails me
the fish said
'it would be my honor'

ocean
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
Re: ocean
this reminds me of native american lore, or any cultural storytelling that connects man and animal intrinsically ....many tribes had great respect for the animal they killed, the fish they caught...the paid homage before eating.....there was symbiosis....and your twist in this poem, is even the fish is cool with it all.....she is honored....very hip jana

Re: ocean
That touches my core
Wait til I tell you my " greed story!"
Thanks! Standing in the sun
The dog getting his frisbee thrown
I am all dressed up
Waiting for the lover I have not met yet
I am sure we will recognize each other
Like old frenz from way back
Laughter will roll from my lips
He will kiss me and I will welcome his touch
Faceless body less I feel him getting closer
So I am ready
Wait til I tell you my " greed story!"
Thanks! Standing in the sun

Waiting for the lover I have not met yet
I am sure we will recognize each other
Like old frenz from way back
