cerebral crunch

Post by saw » March 5th, 2015, 6:51 pm

I should be famished
the morning is deep
in sunshine, rotated...
high above the frozen eave

all I really want to do
is write a few new poems, record
my streaming insanity
while it flows like gushing wine, through the burgeoning bloodstream

through the ancient conduits of twisted ideas
my fragile contentment.... shoots the gap,
confessional rivers
race to their mother's arms

the grumbling, rumbling stomach
can be ignored
long as the poet's mind
can get that satisfaction, the one that eluded Mick, so many years ago

So I spin my silly tales
like they actually mean something
my right hand flies across the ruled field
food for thought fills the bowl.....the breakfast of champions
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I like it all but especially this

write a few new poems, record
my streaming insanity
while it flows like gushing wine, through the burgeoning bloodstream
