the long forgetful road

Post by saw » February 28th, 2015, 2:02 pm

every thought
a new brick in the wall
each hatched idea fortifying
your credo, every little notion
part of the Great Wall
that stands as You, every theory
every yoga pose
every bicycle ride
every lover's spat, dylan concert...
every hike to the waterfall
building blocks, the lego of love
the steps along the un-blazed path
to the well ripened garden...and Now
I have forgotten
most of the roads that got me here
it's too much to analyze
too much to compartmentalize,
the conversations have long ago dissolved
the meanings evaporated
like ancient morning dew, and the Truth Is....
I can't tell you my friends,
how I got this way
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

this reminds me of reading great books. while i'm reading they change my life but months or even years later i forget what i've read and only the feeling stays.

same thing with conversations with friends and family. i forget what i've said. i forget what they've said but it made me feel a certain way. and its the feeling that keeps me grounded.

thank you for this and keep writing hard dear saw!

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.
