Balloon of emptiness

Post by judih » February 4th, 2005, 4:58 am

balloon of emptiness

it's a balloon
of emptiness
nothing bursts when a pin pricks you

-- a shell of yesterdays
rattled but fossilized
squeezed out and skeletal

your words run dry
passions fall flat
hopes caught in last year's gears

you knock on my door
hoping for a handout
but - oxygen don't live here, no more

Oh a blown balloon
breathed out smoke
and helium for laughs
only half full so
it expands and floats
above it all
with room to inflate
and play the currents
i'm on a survival mission
yo ho ho an a bottle of rum om

balloon of emptiness
it expands and floats
as temporary as the surface of a soap bubble
a tension on the surface of consiousness
me, this guy who sounds a lot like me
and struggles to stand on his own two feet
how can my words sound like bravado
my words run dry, sand blowing softly speaking of nothing
gray the background like dirty snow, dirtier then the words.
another text box
another bubble pops
vision clearer for a monent out from under the bell jar of my own vanity

I knock softly on the door of passion
fill my lungs with sweet mountain air
sing to a door knob, I call god

Give me a beat boys for your rock and roll

Hermeneutics

“Well you toyed with my affection,
You laughed at my erection”

I toyed with her affection, why do I always have to have a woman on my guilty conscience. Well I suppose there is some progress cause now I am only out of synch two years instead of thirty.
Damn desperado with so many fine things on my table
One step in back of myself

balloon of emptiness --
a balloon
of emptiness --
a shell

vacuous
by design?
so that
you don't feel
the pain --
that yesterday
left behind?

so that you don't feel the pin pricks?
so that you don't hear the rattle?
so that you don't see or smell or touch
passion
or
hope?

because --
it hurts too much?

pain and love
joy and promise
it is all one

i knock at your door
as a friend
who brings you
a fresh supply of oxygen

pay no attention
to your thoughts

just breathe

can i come in?

pin pricks of resentment
sometimes it does hurt
but only my vanity

the needle pricks the skin --
they say a bubble of air in the vein
can break your heart worse
than she did (maybe,
if that's even possible,
anymore) --

the soul is a balloon
with a shiny, colorful surface,
and an illusory emptiness inside --
(illusory, because
it is the tension
of this emptiness that supports
the shape of the suface)

at some point
the hermeneutics of suspicion
gives in
to the hermeneutics of despair
and then you are left with
the void at the center of things --

all doors leading to walls,
all walls containing more doors

-- the end is there
from the beginning

"time defragments the soul"
nobody broke my heart
but
jesus broke the wild horse in my heart
the spirit is willing the flesh is week
I prefer soap bubbles to ballons
so much nicer when they pop
no yucky bits of latex to clean up
in the rags of old age
I am happy as I can be
just waiting for a friend
a pal to pitch to.

I have have stopped the pursuit of happiness
to pursue the now.

"in our rags of light
all dressed to kill" LC

You burst my balloon

My only delight

It was filled with hot air

But Christ the heights

It could reach

Now it's lying there

Pathetic

Like me
I used to walk with my head in the clouds but I kept getting struck by lightning!
Now my head twitches and I drool alot. Anonymouse

love, pain --
the whole damn thing

if i thought a pin,
a knife
or a machete
would save you
from this pain
then
there
would be
no need
to
dare

i would dig deep
for you
cut it out
cut it off
just
to
know
that
you were free from
it

still,
let me in
past the armour --
take my hand
and
i will lead you --
the rest of the way home

and there we will breathe,
and there we will dance,
and there we will love

no more suppress
no more six letter words

instead,
we will yell --
at the top of our lungs...
we will sing out --
four letter words
for
"no more suppress!"

begins with f
rhymes with duck
resonates deep
sets you free --

grab on...
grab my hand...
drop and roll...
and let's tumble down
this hill together,
like we did when we were children

tumbling over and over
out of control
laughing, breathing, tumbling --
feeling fear and excitement
as one
love and pain
as one

love, pain --
balloons and armour

the whole damn thing

forrest --
and
you and me
running to

spirit runners
spirit dancers
spirit lovers

running to

it's kind of like a love song
it's kind of like a life song

never ending life song

as i run
and dance
and laugh

i find myself
in search of --

hmmmm...

someone
incredible

who thinks
i'm
unforgettable

and we will share our own
never ending life song!

'ya know?

maybe i need to stop awhile
and look around

'ya know?

see whose looking back at me

'ya know?
