Acrobat

Post by Doreen Peri » March 11th, 2015, 1:32 am

1.

i once played an opiate
fiddle, strings strung too tight
with a bent bow floating
low over bass notes,
strummed high atop treble,
some listeners lulled to sleep
by what they erroneously
perceived as the boredom
of clever harmonics —

others, though,
wide awake to partake
in magical symphonic
sound, bound to enter
dreamscapes

2.

i do backflips for your words
somersaults for your phrases
i hang upside down knees
bent over the trapeze head
below just to know traces
of memory swung back
and forth into the force
of your verse

aah the things we did to get noticed, to be part of something bigger than our self...I like it
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

i donno..he's one of my favorite writers ...he used to write at litkicks ... i was an immediate fan (I forgot his litkicks screen name but it'll come to me) ... Craig Moore, got his novel in my Amazon.com cart ... can't wait to afford to buy it.

guess he likes it over there... more action than here...

hopefully he'll come back soon. i miss him here.

He's not over there either. Not for days. I don't know where he is. Maybe he has a real life. You have a real life.... I don't know how you fit all this in ... If I had a real life, I wouldn't be hanging out on the intermess stupor highway, the blagoblogs, the webtubes. heh ... I'm hoping to get one soon. A real life. But first I gotta get well. Somehow. Then I'm going to join the circus. I'm gonna be an acrobat poet, spin metaphors around poles and swing some stanzas from the tips of my toes.... Wheeeee!

life is life....only thing is its got to be whole....and varied....anything in excess is dangerous....especially getting involved with someone....it can get boring real quick...i
sincerely feel we were made to keep moving....i just drop in here when free....i carry no iphone, it could cause a ruination....if im writing and someone wants to interact, i stop...
my concern in this thread is same as yours....whats up with the poets....maybe i expect too much....the main thing is theres definite quality here, other places its like there still learning....ugh....anyway im really just a word performer...poetry's just a tag people lay on you....jammin really is what im after, and its hard to come by these daze....nuff said...hope u keep it open here for awhile 8)

I was married 2x. That's about as involved as you can get. I didn't get bored, though. I just got cheated on by both and ridiculed by one. *shrug* Never a dull moment. I don't know what this has to do with acrobatics but hey, that's OK. I don't know a lot of things.

I can't afford an iPhone. I use a laptop computer. That's all I have. I'm lucky to be able to afford a connection to the internet. Other than my housemates, the internet is the only connection I have to people. Humans are social beings. So, in a way, it's a life saver for me.

It was another piece I posted where I asked whether this site is dying or not, not this piece.

This piece is about being a poet acrobat. I am an acrobat poet. I do stunts with words. It's fun!

Yeah Doreen you are an acrobat...trapeze poetess, capable of death defying stanzas...and
oohs and aahs, squeals from the peanut gallery....that's why you need to go to the gym, gotta stay in good shape for jammin' and swingin' and spinnin' dem tales
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I'm going tomorrow. For sure! Spring has sprung me into action ... along with a good friend who read me the riot act about getting moving. Thanks, Steve! I'm going to be doing somersaults and handsprings, not to mention working on benchpressing my own weight. Why? Gotta hold myself up, that's why. Plus the Poetry Circus is waiting for my performance.
