Indulging addiction
He is the kiss of death that lures my heart,
A fascination stewing within my whole
Never ending with touch that parts
The addiction that races within my very soul.
If not lovers then what are we
With glances of fighting emotion
Come now, please tell me
How do we fight this commotion.
Tis naught but the tale of foreign exchange
Constantly reeling me in to believe
Leaving my tides in need of rearrange
Whilst feeling that I've been deceived.
Woe, how this addiction is excitement within
My nerves tingle, twist, shout, and glow
I see him and beg within my eyes over and over again
He looks deep, smiles and knows.
I turn my glance so suddenly away
Fighting the fascination within my whole
For there are words I know he'll never say
He, the addiction that races within my my very soul.
A fascination stewing within my whole
Never ending with touch that parts
The addiction that races within my very soul.
If not lovers then what are we
With glances of fighting emotion
Come now, please tell me
How do we fight this commotion.
Tis naught but the tale of foreign exchange

He, the addiction that races within my my very soul.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.

I'm a sucker for lost love poems, and generally i struggle with rhyme to highlight serious topics
but i think this holds up to my usual scrutiny....sounds like a bad jones...

I'm stuck to be honest with you. Hoping I can pull away from him the next time.

Re: Indulging addiction
To be honest Ton this is a secondary peice to another poem. I should have posted that one first. Not sure if I want that first one to be read yet. Wireman I would love to feel that breathless bliss, but, there's the slight problem of a married man. That is my addiction.

Sorry not to reply to the poem but just replying to your last reply. Let him go! Talk to him again after he's divorced.
I hate that shit.
Happened to me too many times. I had one guy telling me he was separated. Later I found out he was living in the same house with his wife but he told me he'd been "separated" for several years living in another part of the house. He called her "My future ex-wife"... HAHAHAHAHA... What a buncha joker shit. I've got other stories to tell but I'll spare you. Suffice for this one, it's 15 years later and he's still married to her. Of course. All he wanted to do, as many of them want to do, was to talk me into my pants. Pfffft! Sorry, I got personal here but you're the one who mentioned the "slight problem." The "slight problem" is NOT "SLIGHT". It's HUGE. You deserve better. Get rid of the loser and user and I know I'm not a shrink so you can't fire me so I'll fire myself. Lighting myself on fire right now, matter of fact. I'm up in flames, jogging like Richard Pryor.

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Yeah my bad. But at least I found a solution to the problem. The problem that was a problem is no longer a problem. It's done!
