at the Green Parrot in the Keys
where the beer was cheap
and the women wore knives
strapped to their legs,
and it wasn't uncommon for some
cuban beauty to drop one of her tits
in the pocket you were tryin' to sink
the eight ball in, and man was that
distracting to a young sailor,
and should have been against the rules
when you shooting for money, but
there were no rules in the Green Parrot
just cheap beer and a bad pool table
oh man those were the days
fo sho, hands tremblin', drunk as a skunk
not sure whether I missed on purpose
or she really got to me, but I will
never forget those nights swillin'
that rotten beer and gettin' out alive

Hey Wireman , now we' re talking about some good poetry! Back in the day when I was eighteen and wore a uniform I was known to frequent dive bars. A joyous feeling to get out in one piece. .
