aah, those daze when boyz
weren't allowed to cry, but much
more than that were badgered and intimidated
to develop a dead spot in their hearts
so they would be ready for the jungle
those formative daze when bullying
was expected and you better keep
your mouth shut.....so glad i finally
wrote a poem about it 'cause all
the males here seem to know what I'm talking about
I hated gym for that reason
instead of being a distraction from academics
it was a trip to the dentist in little shop of horrors
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Looking back on it now, I think political influence creeped in (only a couple of years past the draft, and the Cold War against an Evil Empire that was out to enslave us, etc.). Of course, none of that really registered too deeply at the time.
