so many promises in all the religious tomes....blind faith has always scared the shit out of me

i guess I'm a centrist, open to many ideas the hard liners scoff at....sometimes I wish i had the comfort of putting all my eggs in one basket that people seem to enjoy...the peace of mind of memorizing passages that cannot be proven to be true...nor disproved i might add

that's the problem....these ancient texts carry such weight....I believe in letting people believe what ever gives them solace, but we have seen unspeakable horrors when twisted minds decide to interpret the lines with hate in their heart

even science is open for dissection...Carl Sagan called it intellectual chauvinism to belief we know all the laws of physics ....so how do extremist convince themselves that killing nine people in a church is a righteous idea

we have a long way to go, I guess....love, empathy, tolerance seem so far away some days
