I knew something was wrong
the minute I vacuumed the whole house
like that was important or something
and it had been a couple of years
so I couldn't quite explain it, but

I think I heard a voice in the back of my head
in the back room where neurons are billiard balls
slamming against the side of my skull and leftover
brain cells spill like cheap beer on faux felt, and
women with endless cleavage convince me

to buy them expensive drinks, there somewhere
in that seedy space of existence, there it was,
this idea to vacuum, it came to me, so I walked
like a movie ghoul with outstretched arms
in front of me to the closet door and grabbed the knob

took out this red devil piece of machinery
that needed a cleaning of its own, wrote
the letters W H Y in the dust with my finger
and stared at this thing for a very long time....
how does this work ?
