I am empty.
Without purpose,without direction.
It's not a feeling I relish.
Where are the answers?
I'm pretty sure I was promised them by now.
By art
By religion
By school
By politics
But none of them have provided a damn thing.
I guess this is ennui.
So how do you fill a zero?
Or reach past an infinity?
How many more horizons must be crossed?
They all are empty.
They all are empty.

Re: Emptiness
the ennui you speak to seems more prevalent to me...or perhaps i am just more tuned into to people's accounts these days......as Dan expressed, very poetic questions, those 2

If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Re: Emptiness
I guess it boils down to that age old question of how to find happiness. Of course, that is something we all must discover on our own. "your mountain is not the masters mountain."
But there must be guide posts! Unfortunately very few of the guide posts I've thus far encountered have lead to happiness for me. Maybe for my family or my school or my job, but when is it my turn? Must we destroy the balance of the others to achieve our own aims? History (literature) would seem to lean toward yes. I, however, being the eternal optimist believe there must be a way to balance them all. The search however, is the question, and a difficult question to crack.

Leave the letter that never begins to go find the latter that ever comes to end, written in smoke and blurred by mist and signed of solitude, sealed of night.
