Joseph or Nicodemus ( for Wireman, bless his soul )

Post by the mingo » September 27th, 2015, 9:40 am

outer inner
sentenced to poetry
for life with no other possibility
actors bartering for the next role
i'm bothered no end
for better or worse
i live the servant to worms
pearl girls judge me
a drunk monk sitting
beneath cedar
i've been offered a job
as a clerk in a bait shop
i say what's next?
syllable doctors driving toward
the last fever standing
ava gardner's bones beckon me
to come look at her
without her feathers
fingers concern me too
i think about fingers
I mean when they came
to take Christ's body
down from the cross
whose fingers touched it first,
Joseph or Nicodemus?
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Iguana nights
Remote locations
Ava broke Frankie's
Heart more than twice
How could Mickey be
So foolish in his playing
Around in the fields
With the fairest flower
At home, clouds parting
A ride to the everlasting
Place where big wheels
Block the doors
me I feel like I'm becoming some kinda Kung fu t.v. Priest.....

no parole
poets are lifers
with tattooed hearts
and smoke rolling fingers
Ava can no longer act
but she is a gardener of worms
she grows bait til it's plump
enough to hook fisherman
Joseph can't fish anymore
he bakes loaves of bread
while Nicodemus sells cadavers
at the Sunday market
Wireman blows his harp, ad libs
the way he's feeling
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

wow spotless- left me wordless-
the perfect words formulating
almost disappearing
in timelesness-
peaceful inside
wiremans poems still tatooed on his hide
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
