auschwitz

screams that keep screaming
deep
deeper
Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

sad chapter for sure...some sounds are forever in the collective consciousness....

you've said a lot with so little
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Thx, saw - posted this elsewhere on some different sites - caused controversy - makes one think that stupidity reigns supreme - I'll just drink my coffee & let the world spin - I have to move some firewood this morning - got two face cords being delivered & need to make space knowing that before they are gone they will be covered in at least two/three feet of snow and that bears keeping in mind - want to be situated before that happens - here on the uplands of Tug Hill plateau snow never cracks a joke - 8)

Even when there are no screams the deeper you still hear them. I'm on the fence about this one but it's still inspiring. Wishing I had the will to write better.
And above me the stars align
But not yet with my own
And the night birds sing
Whilst the demon haunts this restless soul.

saw, yeah, over Vermont way they get it steady all season - here where i'm at the main culprit is what they call "lake effect" snow - it gets intense - the air picks up moisture coming across Lake Ontario - wait, just google "Tug Hill Plateau" and "lake effect snow" if your curiosity gets up, you'll see. I moved into this area toward the end of last winter totally unprepared - got my legs under now - i think - 8)

yeah ming, i knew about lake effect snow , but was unfamiliar with Tug Hill Plateau...sounds like a challenging place to winter over...I did google, you are really up there in lake country...
which river are you on ?.....I've done some trails in the Catskills further south, Hudson Valley...
my youngest son went 2 years to Bard College on the Hudson River....gorgeous campus in the woods near Red Hook....some prognosticators are calling for more snow this winter....time will tell

Wireman, yeah you know it plus a couple of others i've recently registered on - thing that surprised me the most is that many of the comments reflect so little knowledge of the facts or
they have joined the controversy over if it happened at all - anyways, i was not prepared for what the posting of this poem revealed to me - it stops my mind that with the wealth of knowledge available today at anyone's fingertips & the push of a key ... knowledge is a poor substitute for truth and it's most dangerous when allowed to stand for truth or confused with it

saw - I'm on the Little Salmon River - if you google map it put in Colosse, ny, used to be a village by that name there years ago but only a bar there today - anyways, from the crossroads go east on 69 - you will come to the river quick enough, my place is the first one on the south side of the road after you cross the river - you will see my kayak belly up on the bank between the river & my place if you click the satellite feature - if you zoom out you will see all those narrow backroads that surround me here - they provide me with some of the best biking i've ever done - most of the 'ku & shortform poetry i post here at s8 come from bike rides down those backroads -

I'm not that familiar with the Hudson River country by direct experience - I have passed thru parts of it - I have read of al the history that has passed up & down that river, both white & native - it is beautiful over there -
