Act II, scene iii

Post by 68degrees » November 1st, 2015, 8:27 pm

Saying good-bye
is worse than weeping
over dead gods
It’s a place to end a story
or a nature walk or fold
the white pages of poetry
into handkerchiefs
Some say there are dark
dreams in every house:
jacket pockets hanging
loosely from closet hooks,
drawing rooms or parlors
with silver tea sets on glass tops
Some say there are dark
secrets in the carved words
of playwrights: the pauses
between the moments
before an actor speaks:
“Am I supposed
to be afraid of you?
I am, you know.
Perhaps this is a good time
to say ‘good bye'"

If after these words are said,
and one feels inclined to leave,
this is the time I want to be
placed under glass

particularly fond of :

It's a place to end a story
or a nature walk or fold
the white pages of poetry
into handkerchiefs

but the entire poem is well crafted and poignant ....enjoyed
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Doll, you may have found a place of rest but I'm still on the trail.

Willy was right.
