torn blue collar ....( a blues rant )

Post by saw » November 7th, 2015, 10:55 am

in the end all the money made
for other people won't help us
survive, and so it is...
the struggling masses too old
to be asked to the prom,
it was all for nothing,
hand to mouth, long hours, daze..
destruction of the body
so a few assholes could make
their mark, we made so many rich
carried them piggyback to the bank
filled their coffers with bloody green

I need a double shot of my baby's love
chased with moonshine, I need a toke

over the line, a knee replacement,
Hell, might as well switch the shoulders
hips and elbows as well. I want to
be bionic, a six million dollar man
adjusted for inflation, I want to just once
stop a runaway commuter train with my
bare hands and fluttering cape, I want
to fly over baltimore in a sexy spandex suit
with all the colors on the spectrum,
a crayola missile scribbling my defiance
on the face of the sky, instead of being
ignored, tossed into a big pile of fossils

I need a tom collins, a rob roy, a bloody mary
what will happen to them, where will they go ?
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

I tried everything
And nothing
I left it at the bus station
This sadness wrapped in dollars and sense
Burning man
I wanted to make juice
In the middle of nowhere
For dollars
Preying on the thirsty
For my future
Seemed a good idea
I am always thinking
About ways to make that penny scream
So that I can sloth and glutton later
On the American scheme
Con and manipulate
The dollars and senseless
What I want to do with that money
Is make a sculpture at the foundry
Of the love I wanted and lost
In my search for the almighty
Dollars and senseless
Ambitions and precision
Another incision for the body
I never loved
I threw it around
Expected it to follow me
Like a dog on a leash
But I paid dearly for the indirect carelessness
My teeth
My feet with little broken bones
Inside from running
From the truth
When I couldn't move
Now I approach
Like a cyldesdale horse
Slip on doc martens
Bridges in my mouth to eating healthy
Food-
All has changed
Rearranged
On the bridge between here and yesterday
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---

yeah Mark, never without tie wire, duct tape or my tools....I'd be lost without them

and nice rambling response ( poem) Jana...one poem leads to another, and on it goes
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading

Every day
There is a new oppurtunity
Root canal on Tuesday
Class and outpatient - Monday and Wednesday
Then application for masters in fine arts- and a paper to write
Then the " memoir" I have been urged to write
By many- my " stand - up " career is on hold
Funny ? Maybe

I was " offended" the other day when this girl was saying " she was bored" I was like,,,, that is so bullshit- " it is a choice"
Look it up- it says" apathy - jaded.. Etc.." It's something you can do something about
I got no time for people that are bored
Serious as a heart attack
Master bate- take matters into your own hands
Next post bac semester- 12 credits in the cold winter
I want to be saturated

blues rant jam
voice of the people
every worker has a story
of toil and trouble, never
on EZ Street, the tangle
of chasing the buck through
elapsing time, over and over
working for more monsters
than men, the ubiquitous grind
blues to the left of me, blues
to the right, reading about a CEO
in today's paper, puts 22 K per day
in his savings account, WTF Man
what happened to balance, fairness
was it always just tears in the eyes
of the homeless, blues gotta roll
stories need to be told, it's a blues jam
If you do not change your direction
you may end up where you are heading
