windows shake
I shudder

headache: check
elbow ache: check
eyes blurry: check
ears ringing: check
wrist pain: check
checkbook deficit

…

good thing I know
where the keyboard keys are
otherwise, I am mute

so who cares?
politicians drone on
lawyers play games
black Friday deals
in the meantime…
wolves off the list
polar bears drowning
rhinos die for horns
elephants morn the dead
condors are numbered
forests burn down
so what! who cares?
…I do

fragile
me
fragile
you
fragile
us
fragile
handle with care

…

SELF ASSESSMENT
the synapses still click
brain cells still connect
heart beat drum corps
fall in step or
just fall
then:
REALIZATION!
leaves die
planets die
all die
hasten the end
why don’t you?
because:
HOPE!
a tiny spark
flames the day
sunrise, sunset
another adventure
or just denial
perhaps…
STRESS!
self creation
a badge of courage
or a tattered patch
wondering why
it matters so much
bottom line:
LOVE!

can totally relate to the frustrations ( mainly caused by soulless moneydevils) and how yet as a man with children and a grandson I need to have hope....so I do.......and of course the aches and pains of aging present another set of challenges we all will deal with sooner or later...yet we can't live there....need to get outside our bodies for awhile when we can manage a distraction....hang in there....Love is the answer
