These days she was only concerned
With where the bathroom is
Her feet could not run anymore
She tried not to drink fluids before going out
This old woman
The trolley jostles the bodies
The people smile when the little dog
Barks at the big dog
She was thinking about her eye appointment
And Harry Potter frames
She was wondering if she even had to go to the bathroom
She was leaving for chile in 2 days
The story was being told
She could think of nothing but blue star doughnuts
Her half unpainted
Merely the suggestion of a woman
Thinking deeply
About the things
She cannot change
The trolley lulls her into a childlike bliss
Babies smile
Young men Get off the trolley
The city stretches out in a blurr of rain drops and footprints
The eye doctor said" better with this one or
This one
They put the stuff in your eyes
And take a picture of the retina
The trolley made her sleepy
Jiggly wiggly

Jiggly wiggly
reason is over rated, as is logic and common sense-i much prefer the passions of a crazy old woman, cats and dogs and jungle foliage- tropic rain-and a defined sense of who brings the stars up at night and the sun up in the morning---
Re: Jiggly wiggly

Re: Jiggly wiggly
I liked this poem more and more as I read through it. Doesn't start too well----too self-conscious of body-functions but it is what it is. However, the poem works through it and she attains a moment of a kind of bliss and then a comfortable sleepiness----like the weather? It fits. To me the poem doesn't end up sad. It ends up accepting what life has given.
I enjoyed reading the poem.

the phone rings
history reinvents itself
the only man that ever loved me
the one that i gave children to
his voice
stirs memory
